    Default Pleasure Dome

Another great example of Van Hagar rockin' it. As heavy as anything with Dave, in my opinion.

I liked the instrumental version from RHRN, and always thought that they could bring that back for a Dave show...do the drum solo out of it again, or whatever, but give Dave a break.

They shouldn't completely ignore the music they made from 86-96. I think it would be cool to play this or Sucker instrumentally.

Honestly, I don't know that I would go see them live again in a year or two without a reason. A new album and a couple of new tunes at the show are not enough...I need for them to change it up a bit. I want to hear Atomic Punk, On Fire, You're No Good, and some instrumental Sammy tunes...which will give Dave a break on the mic.

PD was a cool segment in the show during that era.

Pleasure Dome is an underrated masterpiece. The guitar, rhythm section, and lyrics combine to create a rock n' roll trip that captures the intensity and desperation the song means or convey.

incredible tune. Love it. Everything about it is great. Intro...the lyrics and vocal performance by sam are great. Dat solo.

my favorite part is right before the solo you hear Al on the cowbell and Sam starts this scream way in the back and it slowly comes forward in the mix...it's chill inspiring. That's the kind of stuff that still makes me think andy johns was the best guy for producing vh. He might not have been as sonically good as fairburn (I still think it's really close in that area) but they did stuff on FUCK that they never did before.

"F.U.C.K" is becoming my fave VH album. For years, it was "5150", cause it was the first VH album I heard, but over the years, its production is no match for "F.U.C.K". Andy was/is their best producer. Totally agree with you Bad to the bone....and "Pleasure dome" is amazing too.

"Pleasure Dome"...here were my first impressions of this song:
    - First two are chords E and that open-string F#, just like in the verses of Rush's "Xanadu"...I liked it from the start.
    - I loved Ed's guitar sound.
    - I thought that Van Halen was getting a little proggy. I dug it.
    - I loved how tight Ed, Mike, and Al were. They were so locked in...it's tough to think of a VH song where they were as tight as they were than this one.
    - I loved Ed's chicken pickin' variant which starts at around 6:15. So bad ass!

    This song is quite underrated.
