    Van Halen: David Lee Roth to release Greatest Hits package

    Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth will release a new CD+DVD package, "Greatest Hits/The Deluxe Edition", on November 19.

    The set will feature classic songs and videos from his multi-platinum releases "Crazy From The Heat", "Eat 'Em And Smile" and "Skyscraper", as well as and chart-topping rock radio tracks from his albums "A Lil' Ain’t Enough" and "Your Filthy Little Mouth."

    Roth personally selected and sequenced the newly mastered songs and the videos for this collection.

    Notes about the release:

    * CD containing 16 great tracks, including entire "Crazy From The Heat" EP
    * DVD containing 9 classic MTV videos, including the entire "Dave TV" Warner Home Video release for the very first time on DVD format
    * New artwork and photos
    * Printed lyrics to all songs
    * Limited edition

    Roth and Van Halen wrapped up their “A Different Kind Of Truth” tour in July.

    Does Dave know that he'll have to cede all proceeds to the Van Halen's or use the funds for a specific purpose, such as settling a divorce?

    Anyway, this sounds pretty cool. Gotta strike while the irons are hot.

    Nice! A couple live tracks or live show disc thrown in and you would have had a nice Dave solo career retrospective.. But this aint bad..

    ...Now about the VH box set..

    NO!!!!!

    Unless it included bonus un-release or "LIVE" songs not studio enhanced live recordings like RHRN!

    I don't own any Dave solo stuff, so I might pick this up. I've always liked some of the work he did, so it will be nice to get it in a convenient package--which is exactly what these things are meant to do.

    I know people rail on "Best ofs" as being stupid, but it does turn people on to the artist. I became a Van Halen fan because I heard Best of Volume I as a budding teenager and wanted to hear more. Next thing I know I've got every VH CD, DVD, and I spend an inordinate amount of time on a Van Halen message board.

    nah....it's like alot of songs people rag on during the sammy years, it's not meant to be a lyrical masterpiece, it's just a fun tune. I always liked it and I love the solo spot.

    sam had a career retrospective type of a deal come out in 04, where the vh bros pissed about that? I honestly can't remember and I am just wondering what thier reaction to this is gonna be (in both cases I don't think they have any right to be pissed about either one)

    I'm thinking in 2004, the brothers needed to get Paid, and any philosophical differences were probably tempered by that need.

    Kiss me quick I'm double parked.

    I love that song actually, wicked solo.

    Skyscraper was a sick album. I don't care what anybody says.

    I wish DLRBand stuff was on there. That album is one of the most under-rated albums ever, I love popping that in every now and again. King of the Hill, Relentless, Slam Dunk, well just about every song. I don't think there's a bad song on ther.e

    I used to have David Lee Roth "The Best" and someone stoled it from me when I was living in Vernon. Well more like he borrowed and never returned. Was a hard CD to find even back then. I really liked "Don't Piss Me Off" that was on that CD I was hoping they would include it on this one as well.

    I own all this stuff so I'm unsure if i'll pick it up or not. The video DVD is a nice feature so that might be why I pick it up.

    I could probably sing just about any DLR solo song. I was really disappointed that my Your Filthy Little Mouth album got scratched, not so easy to replace. My dad made me throw out A little ain't enough when I was a kid because there was a devil on it, I'm not kidding. I had to do it right in front of him, I took it out of the garbage once and the next time he made me break it. Needed a new copy of that one for awhile and have had a hard time finding a copy.

    I have Diamond Dave his last solo album. Thug Pop was pretty dope. Pretty decent CD. I liked the Bluegrass stuff too I cranked that drinkin some summers ago at my old basement suite when nobody lived upstairs for a few months. Those were some good times. Dam good times.

    Granted it was a different situation, but Best of Both Worlds had "Up for Breakfast," which is a far shittier sandwich.

    Perhaps some record label / legal issues? "Blacklight" is my single fav from DLR Band.
