Default New DLR Greatest Hits CD/DVD coming out in Nov

Someone from the Roth Army Forums posted it. It looks like Dave's involved with it, too:

    http://www.musictap.net/2013/10/01/d...greatest-hits/

What a weird choice of songs and videos. I figured he'd be putting out another one at some point to capitalize being back in Van Halen (not that they'll sell much and no one really makes money anymore on albums so why I thought that I don't know). "Damn Good" not being included again is insane. Or his newer stuff. And why the hell are they leaving off the video for "JLP?!" It should be:

    1. California Girls
    2. Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody
    3. Yankee Rose
    4. Shyboy
    5. Goin' Crazy!
    6. Ladies' Nite in Buffalo?
    7. Just Like Paradise
    8. Skyscraper
    9. Damn Good
    10. A Lil' Ain't Enough
    11. Sensible Shoes
    12. She's My Machine
    13. You're Breathin' It
    14. Slam Dunk!
    15. King of the Hill
    16. Flex
    17. Shoo Bop
    18. Thug Pop

    DVD:

    1. California Girls
    2. Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody
    3. Yankee Rose
    4. Goin' Crazy!
    5. Just Like Paradise
    6. A Lil' Ain't Enough
    7. Sensible Shoes
    8. She's My Machine
    9. Flex
    10. Shoo Bop

With "Loco Del Calor!," the home video interviews, and DLRNHBBQ stuff as bonuses. Plus a new cover.

    Will still be buying it.

As much as I like it...Shoo Bop belongs nowhere near a Greatest Hits record.

Sure it does. To represent that album, it was it's only single and the only song he played live in '03-'04. And to be technical, if you only counted the songs that charted or were popular on the radio, he would have less than 10 songs on the GH album. The same goes for any band/musician who's not huge like a Van Halen, Aerosmith, etc.

Not sure how he always leaves what may be his best solo song off all these compilations.

    Damn Good.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

It's a good idea , but just once I wish they'd do one of these retrospectives the right way. Instead of calling it a " Greatest Hits ", just make an interesting compilation of the catolog, and include something unreleased or new for the fans that already have everything.

Like Aerosmith's " Gems ", or J Giels Band's Anthology. Even the other DLR " Best Of " had one extra new tune on it. It will be worth getting just for to have the video's on dvd finally. In fact, they could of marketed it as a dvd with the cd being the bonus.
" On a scale that ranges from deep dark depression to rip roaring fun ... most people idle between pissed off ...and not too pissed off " DLR 1997

The older "Best Of" has a much better track list. It'll be nice to have the vids on one dvd though. My picks for a DLR "Best Of" in order:

    Just Like Paradise
    Goin' Crazy
    California Girls
    Shyboy
    A Li'l Ain't Enough
    Slam Dunk
    Yankee Rose (extended version)
    Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody
    She's My Machine
    King Of The Hill
    Don't Piss Me Off
    Little Texas
    Tobacco Road
    Ice Cream Man ('95 version)
    Hina
    Ladies Night In Buffalo
    Sensible Shoes (extended version)
    Damn Good Times
    Mean Street (acoustic)

TB, can you point me in the direction of the extended versions of Yankee Rose and Sensible Shoes? I'm not sure I'm familiar.

I agree it is a sin that the Just Like Paradise video is not on this. Slam Dunk! Should be too. I might buy this for the DVD of videos. I already own all of Daves solo albums, including his last Best Of.

I believe the extended versions are what is on the albums, and he had shorter radio friendly versions.

Not 100% sure, but I believe that is the case.
