I had an older Strat style guitar, with a failed switch and the frets were due for a change. So started to look for some parts to rebuild it along black in white stripe VH model.
I used some masking tape to put down some random lines on the body which was already black, sanded with fine grit, used got some Krylon spray can vintage white for paint. I found a used Krammer neck, and an SD hot rail for the bridge, the two MIM single coils. I used 250K pots and .047 cap. Wired it up using the standard SD diagram. The only thing that I have noticed is that after making all the adjustments, I added a roller tree, but still challenged with keeping it in tune. I saw on the web you can drill the block to get the end of the wires up trough the neck as suggested by somebody on youtube to better keep in in tune. Still needs some work, not sure I like the Hot Rail.
