Default Do you wish "Live without a net" was an album aswell?

This is my fave concert dvd of all time!!! I remember back in 87/88 recording the whole thing on audio in surround sound and listening to it on my headphones on lunchbreaks, etc.(I've still got that cassette to this day).
For me, its the perfect concert. not just great musicianship and chemistry, but fun. The whole band was on fire. I reckon VH could've made it an album with a great fold out cover like Kiss "Alive II", with a great big stage shot inside.
    Just my opinion.
"We're just gonna have to tear this playhouse down". I love that line from Michael before his bass solo....

Buy the DVD and rip the audio. It's really that simple. I did this years ago when it was re-released on DVD in 2004.

    Of course.

Also wish that Tokyo '89 show was a release. Some great versions of songs on there. The One Way To Rock gives LWAN a run for it's money. It's practically the same version with Ed hitting most of the same fills and squeals, which he doesn't do on Right Here Right Now.

Now this I have never understood as to why it was never an official release. (There is at least a great soundboard audio boot from the Japan '89 show.) Why keep this in the vaults but release that P.O.S. "Live: Right Here, Right Now" nonsense? Or, why the Toronto 1995 official concert release was suppressed after Sam quit/was fired?

Yet, nothing has ever been released live from the Roth eras, video or audio otherwise.

This band is run by a bunch of loonies.

I purchased Breaking The Balance on a trip to Germany years ago. The walls must've crumbled in that club.... That would've been a great live album.

    I don't get it either.

I don't hate Right Here Right Now like most people but if I had a choice I'd take Tokyo '89 in a heartbeat.

I loved seeing them do One Way live on that first tour. But with the passage of time, I prefer the Japan version to LWAN. Edward simply owns in that version.

"Theres only one way to rock" on LWAN is one of my fave VH moments ever!!!! It blows the japan 89 version away. The intro too it just kicks arse!!!!

I wish Sammys radio broadcast from Fresno, CA in 84 was a live album too. Its one of my favorites.

As for "Right here Right now". I'm still hoping that a great soundboard show surfaces from the 91/92 era, cause the album is too doctored up.

Doctored up is a understatement. Pretty much the only thing they kept from the live recordings were Mike's bass and the crowd noise, most everything else was re-done in the studio. With as good as they were sounding live as a band at the time, the fact they did that is remarkable to me.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I think everyone feels the same about the LWAN One Way To Rock. It's phenomenal. But it does not blow Japan '89 away. They're very similar.

It definitely does blow away Right Here Right Now though. Ed just doesn't attack it the same way.

There is an undoctored version of the shows that were used for RHRN out there. There's a vicious sound to them, and it's a little raw, but they're very common. Forget what they're called, it's been so long.

As for LWAN, I ripped the audio long ago and have it on my iPod. I can't wait for VH to officially release it on CD.

I remember when LWAN was released rock radio was playing a different version of "Rock & Roll", was that from the other night they recorded in New Haven? Sorry "New Halen"
It was even better IMO than than the version that was used for the VHS/DVD

there was a 2nd version of Rock and Roll released to radio stations as well as VH doing Wildthing and Good Enough. Personally Wildthing is one of my all time favorite covers, there's a part where Ed starts playing this really cool lick and Sam says 'here we go" and then he starts soloing, it's very, very bad ass.

the other version of rock and roll has a solo by Sam and a slightly different intro (sam just says "c'mon al" or something like that).

Good Enough is pretty cool as well, really neat added guitar part.

I think it's a medley of "Wild Thing" and (an instrumental version/quote of) "Good Lovin'" at the end.
