Default VH - Eagles Fly (Full Band '93)

I think people forget there was a full band rendition of this song. I've always seen it come up as the acoustic spot and never hear people talk about this.

That '93 tour sure was special. The setlist was phenomenal. And this is without a doubt the best version of Eagles Fly ever played at a VH show.

"He was born a human, he's a horse's ass by proxy." - It's Mike on Eddymon.

I thought they did a great job on this song in '93.
That tour is still one of my favorites.

I always would hit the can during this song.

Would have been better if they played more DLR tunes.

Seriously I never got to see this tour but always wished I did. They were on fire

They played 5 DLR era tunes during that 93 tour, most on any setlist from 86-95. Highlight was Ed playing Unchained for the first time since 1984.

I really like Mine all Mine from that 93 tour as well with the Great solo.

I was at this show from Aug 93

Man I really loved when they did the full band version. It was so unexpected (like hearing Unchained on that tour!), before everything was on the interweb.

I think he was being facetious considering our other thread in Main

the 93 show I saw was still the best concert I've ever seen. Hard to believe it's been 20 years....wow.

I really think that this song could have been one of the band's biggest hits with Sammy had they recorded and not Sammy solo.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

I think it was briefly considered for 5150 but tossed aside. Ed we all know plays Bass, but he also plays guitar leading up to sam's solo guitar spot.

    Great song!

I might lose my Sam fan card for saying this, but I never understood the appeal to it.

I always planned my piss and beer break around it. I like Give to Live, but thought it was a momentum killer in the set.

Just me I am sure, but I never liked either of them being included in the set.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

It would have been a nice song for them (if they were still together) after 9/11, perhaps a little re-wording needed (change from Sunday morning, 9AM, I saw Fire in the sky could have been Tuesday morning, 9AM).

Nah, when it's done acoustically, I have headed for the bathrooms too. Snoozefest to the extreme.

When I heard my first boot from the '93 tour, I was so pleasantly surprised when I heard the whole band jump in because it was so different...and better.

Eagles Fly is a really great song. Awesome when the full band played it live. Totally boring when it's just Sam doing it. Same with Give To Live (though I don't like the officially released version either).

I've always really liked this song! It's a fun one to jam along with on the guitar.
