I don't think Sam would tour again without Chad. He basically said as much when he said Kenny was a great fill-in, but Chad was the drummer for Chickenfoot. I hope he remembers that.

I saw on Facebook Sam posting a pic of him, Joe and Chad having dinner at his place...couple this with the comment that joe was writing for Foot and Chad can basically be in 15 bands at oncoming the Foot Future looks bright.

I'd love to hear Mike do something different / off the wall though!

Their guitar player (can't remember the new guy's name) said they won't hit the studio until December 2013 at the earliest, and probably not until early 2014, record then tour.

They have some festival dates in South America I believe that take them into November and then they want to take a break before hitting the studio.

Chad can of course fit in the recording schedule, but he won't be able to tour with the Foot until probably 2015.

They could of course do what they did last time, Chad record and Kenny tour. No problem with that, but if that is how it is going to be, they might as well just make Kenny the permanent drummer, unless he has a busy schedule as well and can't make the commitment. I know he is in demand as well.

I'm becoming comfortable with the idea of Chickenfoot touring without Chad. Love the guy, but I just want new music.

Er, u think RHCP is going to stick to a fixed schedule?
My guess is RHCP will take the first half of 2014 off. I think there's enough time for CF to do something.

    Most recent news:
"Josh Klinghoffer revealed in July 2013 that work on the next album would no longer start in September or even the fall and could be pushed back until early 2014. Klinghoffer said “I’m really anxious to get back to work in the studio with the Chili Peppers but just the way the year has worked out, mainly with Flea playing with Thom Yorke, it doesn’t look like we’ll get down to any serious work until the end of the year, like maybe December. Which gives me the sneaking suspicion that we won’t really get to it until the beginning of the new year.”

    Album with Chad yes.

I just don't see how he plays a full tour and tours with RHCP.

I love the idea of them touring with Chad again. I hope it could happen.

But maybe I'm greedy. I just want another album. Three to me was the perfect number I was hoping to see from these guys and I still think it's plausible. I loved the two shows I went to, but the having the studio album is timeless.

I love CFI, unfortunately have not gotten a chance to see them as it seems the east coast is not on their tour map.

I think that is the message from all foot fans is we like to have another
album and more. Sam's solo stuff just don't do it for me anymore.
This latest is ok , and for Joe is solo stuff is ok.. When these 4 get
together the music is great, it's like magic their chemistry is spot
    on.

In my opinion....the last CF tour wasn't the same w/o Chad. It was good....but just something missing w no Chad there.

^^^ Most post I read after the tour basically said the same thing. I believe Sam is aware of that too.

Kenny is solid. He's a monster, and he played those songs as well as Chad would have. I believe that.

However, charisma goes a long way, and Chad has way more of it than Kenny. Kenny really looked like a hired gun. An excellent one at that.

Well I heard the delayed was due to Flea working with Thom Yorke. And Josh said they likely wouldn't get back to the studio until after the new year. So if they have tour dates in November (The last being November 9th) Chad would still have plenty of time to fit Chickenfoot in before RHCP reconvenes. Not only that but in 2011 RHCP's album and Chickenfoot's album were released a month apart. So Chad found time in his schedule to record both albums then I'm sure he could do it again.

They don't have the same playing style. So saying he played them as well as Chad would have.....well I'm sure he played them just fine, but he played them differently than Chad would have.
