Anyone ever catch this show? I don't know if this has been brought up before but...

It's a show about High School kids in 1980. I caught part of an episode the other day and what do my wandering ears hear? Yep Van Halen. There were two seperate scenes with two girls riding in a car and they were listining to Ain't Talkin Bout Love and then Jamie's crying. (or Vice Versa) Just though that was cool. The show was on NBC, but Fox Family has picked it up now.

Are they still producing new episodes? I thought that it was cancelled, but I could be wrong. I watched it a couple of times, but as I recall, very few others did. I never noticed any Van Halen though, pretty cool.

I think they are Glenn. I did a search on the net and found a couple of sites. One said that they had been picked up by Fox Family Cannel and that they were doing new episodes. I never caught the show either, it was just a fluke that I flipped by it, but its pretty cool. I've watched a couple of times since then. Nothing will work better than throwing some Van Halen into a show to make me watch it. It's on on Tuesday nights.

I thought that show was pretty good and it's too bad it got canceled. In one of the episode, this girl is playing Ice Cream Man in her car while Dave was playing his acoustic part. Then she sees her boyfriend with this other girl in the park and then she gets pissed and almost runs him over and VH kicks into high gear! That was so funny.

Ya wanna know what happened to that show? Stupid kids in my age group won't watch it because they hate the '80's, but I've found that anyone who did watch it loved it. It was a great show and I don't believe they will be filming any new episodes. The new ones, I believe, are just episodes never aired. I'm mad at NBC for replacing it with that "Malcom In The Middle" ripoff that's bombing out (can't think of the name.) I must say that "Freaks and Geeks" was my favorite show and I think it was the only show EVER to show the way kids really act. In one episode a new girl meets the geeks (the younger kids) and she befriends them, but after awhile, it shows that the popular people are dragging her into their crowd and they knew she'd never hang with them again if she went into that crowd. That's the real way high school is. Dawson's Creek and all those stupid shows forget about all the other people. They focus on the popular kids and that's all. It was nice to see a show with such a different perspective. I'd give up a lot to have new episodes be filmed. Someone enlighten me if I'm wrong, but I think the show is not filming anymore...Anyone have proof if it is?

I've seen all of two episodes of the show. Both had a VH reference.

In the one they were up in the room studying while Little Dreamer was playing in the background.

In the other they were practicing as a band and the drummer had a VH t shirt on.

Folks, this was the best show on television. I was a freshman in high school in 1980, and this thing captured that time period to a tee. The music, clothes, hairstyles, attitudes, it's all there. The guys who wrote it are geniuses.

It still runs on the Fox Family Network (Tuesday nights?) I believe, but I haven't heard anything about new episodes in production. Definitely worth catching.

As for VH references, there were tons. Actually, in the very first episode, VH was given the honor of setting the tone for the "Freaks" group. As it opened, there was a typical pretty boy football player and his typical cheerleader girlfriend sitting on the bleachers professing their undying love to each other. Then, the camera pans down to a group of slackers smoking a doob under the bleachers. Their music? RWTD, baby! What better way to establish the "don't give a ****" attitude than with a little of the good stuff.

Hey I caught that too.. saturday night here. It's off ratings time and the TV channels here just put anything on they can get cheap, but that sure pricked my ears up. I think the bit I saw had some kids smoking behind a school shed, and RWTD was playing

    cooooool!
