    Default Tuner holes

I am wanting to start a 5150 build, but the neck I am ordering is designed for vintage style tuners (11/32") and I want to get some Schaller Minis for tuners (13/32"). How would I go about widening the tuner holes? Do I need to use a 10mm drill bit and widen it, or can I just wrap some 220 grit sandpaper around a pencil or something and widen it like that?

either way should be fine. Just go slow and easy and take out a little bit at a time and test with the schallers. I did that to a neck a while back and I just used the drill bit (cant remember the size) and went slow. Easy deal just test every little bit.

So how about when he goes to paint the neck? What should he use to seal the holes from paint?
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

what I did with my HFT replica neck when I re drilled the holes is just some white primer. One thin coat prior to the regular white did the trick for me and they came out fine.

So basically: drill/sand holes, white primer, THEN white paint?

yeah that worked for me. Just make sure you know how wide to drill and then test before you paint.

    worked for me.
