    Default I got wood

    Quick finishing questions
After I finish this fr hard rail paint job
I have a woody JEM I am thinking of doing a true oil finish
    Two questions
    1. Does it need grain filled?
2 does it need a clear coat
Seems true oil kinda does both
From what I remember from doing a table years ago

Depending on the type of wood your "woody" is, you may or may not elect to use grain filler but yes ... Tru-Oil does both.

I usually opt for grain filler with larger pored or more open grained wood like mahogany. Tru-Oil works great on tighter grain. If you like that vintage textured look like some of the ultra thin "Worn finishes" currently popular, like Gibson does
on some of their Traditional models, then finishing with Tu-Oil would be perfect too. Nice alternative to Nitro lacquer. It's real versatile stuff. You can do so much with it.
    Check this out.

The hard tail is crappy sand and paint job. Working one handed is tough
