"Nick's Avatar" in the film is played by James Hong.
I met him in 1997 and he's such a cool dude!

I'm REALLY looking forward to this movie! Seems like a cool combination of Men in Black and Beetlejuice.

Yikes! R.I.P.D. has absolutely gotten slammed in the reviews, and the way this thread took off, I can see people are really interested. I still can't believe that it cost $130 million to make. But that must just be a drop in the bucket these days.

It feels like they did zero promotion for it, especially considering the two main stars. I was at Comic Con last year (I let my badge go to waste this year) and I saw nothing about this film there. That's where you start to build buzz for a film like this.

They didn't even let critics review it ahead of time. Those two things make me think they realized they had a DOA film on their hands and just cut their losses.

I do know that Bridges replaced Zach Galifianakis, though I am not sure whether the film would have done much better with him.

It has a 47% audience rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Not great.

I want to see it. Like all other movies, I'll just wait for the blu-ray, but it looks funny. Should be named True Grit goes to Heaven though.
