Default Who had the best solo career Roth, Hagar or Plant?

Who had the best solo career David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar, or Robert Plant?
All were really great in their bands, sold millions of albums, but their solo careers were much less popular. On this one I might have to go with Sammy, but Robert Plant's solo work is so much more critically acclaimed- especially his Grammy award winning work with Alison Krauss I think Robert Plant wins? What do you guys think? Is there any hope for future solo work of any quality?

CHI-TOWN, you know what this thread will turn into!

But before it gets closed, there isn't ANYONE with a straight face that can say Robert Plant hasn't had the better career solo wise. I mean Dave and Sam aren't even in the same galaxy as Plant.

In my opinion, you can't really say who did. I am sure peeps here will say that sales will determine who had the best solo career. Also, some will say that being in "VH or Zep" helped them. I don't care either way. If it's good, it's good. Just enjoy music while you can!
    Just go for it!

I read a story today about a guy who approached a set of train tracks in his car. Clear, sunny, dry day. Crossing arms down. Lights flashing. Bells clanging. Guy just drove right through. Crunch. Train nailed him passenger side.

As I read about this man's unnecessary, silly demise, I wondered what it would've looked like had I watched it happen.

I feel like I'm watching it now.

While I do like what Plant did with Allison Krauss (because of her mostly), give me Sammy. Dave entertained me for one album and I was tired of him. Without Eddie, it wasn't the same. Plant...bleh...never cared for any of his solo work at all. Yuck (spit). Sammy though...I really enjoyed his solo stuff. Even post VH stuff appealed to me. Unlike the other two, Sammy was able to continue singing with his "voice". I thought Plant was done by the late 70s and Dave can't do it these days.

I think Gary had the best solo career out of them all.

Tomorrow, when I get home, I'm gonna make three playlists of their hits and other classics. I'll listen to them all over the next several days and let you know who I choose.

Plant of course, financially speaking, but Diamond Dave ain't far behind and still has some millage left. Plant is into the whole English Zen thing and can't hit notes anymore. But Dave is still creative and as he recently said, "Summer Camp Never Ended for me.. "

Let's see, Sammy put out more albums. Dave had the EEAS band. Plant did well with Alison Krauss.

    A tie.

Plant and Dave came from bands that were huge. Sammy built his career from pretty much nothing. Montrose was not a "big" band. No one knew who Sammy Hagar was when he put out his first few solo disks. He had a crappy deal with Capitol and put out some "not to great" albums kind of cause he had to (he had to put out 2 studio disks a year, and tour to support them). Everyone knew who Dave was when EEAS came out. Now it was a great bombastic record and MTV LOVED dave, I mean they played yankee rose every hour for a few months so that album was huge, I bet EEAS was probably the best selling disk out of almost anything Sam or Plant did solo wise. WAs it the best product? I dunno but it's VERY, VERY hard to compare Sam and Dave's solo careers....I can name about 4 solo Plant songs.
