I'd say Ed has a higher net worth than Ozzy, but who knows.

Ozzy has way more worth than Eddie. His show is number one and he signed on for another season,he has the Ozzfest for years now,Black Sabbath, solo career,McFarlane dolls, trading cards,etc.,etc.,etc.Oh and he currently has a new album that is selling pretty well.

Yes, 'net' in this context means 'total'.

And it's just a financial term, as Flappo is hinting at.

As for the question, who has the higher net worth--Ozzy or Eddie? My guess is that Ozzy has probably raked in more than Eddie has. But this is probably a trick question: The true answer is most likely Sharon Osbourne.

    Ozzy,

If you think rock stars make some cash.....try being the promoter and manager of the bands on the bill.........come to think of it.....his wife's probably the one with all the money.......but then isn't that how it always is......
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Last I heard, before Ozzy's new contract and books and albums and such, that is net work was 50-80 mil. That is less than I would have guessed.

I think Ozzy has probably done a much better job over the years managing his money. His wife is pretty sharp and manages their business affairs.

As for Ed, you would have to take into account what Val has contributed as well though, since Ed and her money would be pooled together.

I'll vote for Ozzy on this one...

Maybe from the show Ozzy wins more but from album sales and sponsors, I'd say Eddie.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone

"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

    I'd say Ozzy

Ozzy gets a higher percentage from concert tickets.
(VH sells 10,000 Tickets at $40 & Ed splits the money with the band & his cut is 30% as compared to if Ozzy only sold half for example 5000 tickets at $40 a ticket & took in 75% of gross ticket sales on a Ozzy solo tour, he would make more money in tickets than Ed would. As for album sales VH outsell Ozzy in North America but I think world wide it must even out. Ozzy probably sells more outside the N.A. than VH. Again he takes in a higher percentage than Ed would in this area also. Promo has to be close. Ed makes money on endorsements and guitar sales but Ozzy again does it worldwide. Even before the Ozzy T.V. show money, I'd say Ozzy because Ozzy is a solo artist his percentage made per $ is greater than Ed's.
