    Default Floyd Rose Tremolo Question

My EVH Charvel's Tremolo is pretty stiff compared to my other guitars with a Floyd Rose, and it only has two springs on it. What is the best way to get rid of the tightness? I feel like I have to push twice as hard on the whammy bar compared to my others when useing the thing. I thought over time and use it would get better but it still remains pretty tight after several years of use.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Scottyb

The Floyd rests on the body.

I also have a question. Despite playing for over 10 years, I know next to nothing about guitars. So here it goes. I have an Ibanez guitar that came with a stock double-locking tremolo. Two questions:

    1) How the hell do you tune these things in under 5 minutes? Every time I try to drop down a half step to play some CVH, it takes me at least 30 minutes of trial and error, screwing with the springs, tuning knobs, locking and unlocking, and fine tuners before the strings finally settle in.

    2) I dropped my guitar (slightly) a few months ago, and now the tremolo bar smacks a volume knob when I let it go after using it. I'm guessing it sank into the body more, but the action still feels the same and the intonation and tuning didn't change. It also doesn't dive as much as it used to.

Is there a proper way to adjust the posts to raise it without screwing up the intonation and action?
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

you'd have to nail the post with a hammer to "sink" it as described. You may have just bent your trem arm... just buy another arm on ebay..as far as the tuning you must have it floating so yea its gonna be a pain..get a wolfgang LOL

That helped out a lot. Didn't seem to effect the intonation either. Thanks for the tip!
