Default 5150III, PV combo Eddie settings

    Hey guys,

just thought maybe some folks could post some personal Eddie settings (any era fine) on their PV 5150 (combo or head) and EVH 5150 III (100W or 50W) heads.

thought it would be neat to see what settings we all use for our 5150 (all era) amps to achieve Edward sounds

my old PV combo I used to use,
Low 6.5, Mid 2, High 5, rhythm 4.5, lead 4.5, Res 4, presence 6.5 this setting (volume dependant) used to give me a decent 93 / 95 era sound

    Peavey 6505

    LOW - 4 - 5
    MID - 3 - 3,5
    HIGH - 6 - 7

    PRESENCE - 5,5 - 6
    RESONANCE - 3,5 - 4

    PRE GAIN - 7
    POST GAIN - 5

On both channels, and I leave the crunch button always on the "in" position.
As I'm using 2 channels of a noise gate (one for the pedals and one for the effects loop), it cleans very well when I swell the guitar volume knob down.
If I turn the gates or the buffer on the very end of my pedal board off, stuff changes a lot!

Oh and of course, I forgot to mention the main thing .
This is intended to reach something like FUCK-Balance-VH3 eras LIVE tones (check youtube footages, mainly the bootlegs).

I'm not struggling to achieve any of the Ed era tones perfectly. I'm just stuck with this tone I found that is based on what he was doing on the 90's and I can't get away from it, it's my sound now! For indetermined time!

I'm using a Pat Pend PV Wolfie, Eventide on the micropitch setting and the two Roland delays as well (W/D/W). I don't have a Music Man EVH, so I sound closer to Balance and VH3 than to FUCK... Let's see when I get my hands on one of those Music Mans!

Yeah I have that manual too with eds balance settings. Basically Brett they are the exact same ones I posted in my original post. Volume dependent.
I look forward to see what some of the 5150III have to say too.

The last knob broke off in 1996 or so but it was turned all the way up.

I remember a post either here or at Halen.com where the poster said they actually called Fender (for a different reason) but they got talking about the 5150 llls and the Fender guy gave him Eds setting over the phone. So, someone here or at Halen.com has them. I'm sure if they see this thread they will post them...

I wouldn't mind seeing them too.
