Dave is the promoter. They don't need a marketing team. I bet Eddie figured, "If we get Dave back in the band, we'll get a singer and a promoter rolled into one. None of us will ever have to do another interview ever again!"

I know it's a lot to ask for Edward to show up for one of these things and I know it's like "hey Dave gets off on them let him do it" but it'd be cool if at the very least Al would show up. If he and Dave are talking and getting along great, why not show up and help Dave rep the band. If all of Aerosmith can show up is it too much to ask one other member of VH to attend?

That was pretty cool. Billy Joel seems like a good cat. I'm not crazy about his music but he seems like a guy you would want as a friend. Dave is a natural at this stuff and I'm glad he didn't hog the spotlight and make it all about him, he seemed genuinely interested in listening to Billy Joel speak. Billy's story about Eddie seems spot on. The guys in Aerosmith didn't seem happy to be there though, Tyler looked rather bored.

Well in all fairness to Aerosmith they are probably dealing with the whole Boston tragedy.

You know what, I didn't even think about that, forgot they are a Boston band. Makes sense now.

That was a lot of fun to watch!
The show Billy is talking about where he played with Eddie was the Aids Project L.A Commitment to Life VI in 1992.
They played a song from "Guys and Dolls" or "West Side Story" i think.
I have a small clip on VHS somewhere.

It's always cool to see these artist together. It was great to see Dave laughing at Billy and respectively letting others talk. You can tell he loves being around his contemporaries. Joel's comment about Eddie is just more proof that Edide is just really nervous. The expression on Daves face shows his regocnition of that as he noded, but Dave seem to really respect Ed shyness. He could have slighted Ed there if he wanted but didn't and in his latest interviews he's been understanding and supportive of Ed's recent health issues. It's cool with me if Dave does the press, but it's always special when you see Ed and Dave side by side. Just like Mick and Keith, which is very rare these days as well.

Not to sound cold or callous but I doubt very much that on that stage, they were still in a case of "shock and awe." Unless they personally knew of somebody who was injured or kill, they are really don't have any more emotional ties to the city then the millions of people who have gone to work in the New England area since the bombing.

Now had this interview happened the day of the incident, sure I can see them being that way but to me they are just bored and disinterested.
