Default VH III Today..do you get it now ?

..Looking back..Ed was right..we gonna get this record later down the rd..The complex layers ,the gtr tone , the guitar structure , the just press record approach for this record makes me wonder what the next record with cherone would of been..amazing stuff

I actually think it's worst now. I didn't actually get the disk for a couple of years and it was "eh" right off the bat, alot of the guitar solo's were amazing but when most people are talking about the rideout guitar riff to a song (the one at the end of FITH) and not the actual songs that says alot.

I jsut think it's a terrible disk. Now put a good producer in there and MAYBE you get some decent songs. Let Gary sing like Gary and not like Sammy...etc and maybe it would have been OK.

I have some boots of that tour and they are good but the album still kind of blows.

My VH III cd is sitting in a box out in the garage. I haven't listened to it or have had the urge to listen to it in over a decade.

After the great story by Jeff at VHND I decided to youtube that album and give it another try. An honest try . . . Still don't get it.

Yeah, it still blows goats for quarters.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I think the album artwork was actually an "inside joke" on the listener...BAM!

Van Halen III is not very good. It would have been better if Dave had written and recorded a whole other set of songs with Ed instead of Gary, Mike played and sang on it a lot more and Ted Templeman produced it. Then it might have been a little better.

I found my copy that was stored in a box for the last 10 years. I brought it to work last week and threw it in the pc.. after 3 songs I almost tossed it. The music is good, I just cannot stand Gary's voice. If I could get a copy without the lyrics,, I would listen to it quite often

I got it then and still do. I pop it in every 6 months or so.

I was able to tolerate it back in the day and still can today. The production makes it hard to listen but I like pretty much every song outside of Josephina, Ballot or Bullet and of course How Many Say I.

I will say that Year to the Day has grown on me more with time.

I was going thru a nasty divorce when III came out. I needed something to keep me sane and I played this cd in my car every minute I was in it (mostly because it was new VH - and I am a nut for anything Eddie does). So, VHIII was my good friend that could lean on during that really hard time in my life. I could never get into NewWorld, Primary, Ballot or the Bullet, and HMSI, but I did find a sense of comfort in the rest of the songs (outside of Gary's voice and lyrics).

Even though the songs and guitar solos seemed unfinished (almost like a demo), I remember this cd helped me get thru it all.

But I have to say, III is the only VH cd where I didn't want to learn to play any of the songs on my guitar.
