The first movie was OK. I caught it on TV a few weeks ago.

Loved the first, but I'm starting to think that most the of reason is the shock-value of Hit Girl. A girl that age with the lines she had? Holy shit! Now that she is back and a few years older, the idea of the sailor-mouth on her is a little diluted. Teens talk like that in films all the time now.

I'm hoping the addition of Jim Carrey will bring something new to the table. Loved the delivery of his last line in the trailer.

Holy shit. If Jim Carrey's mask covered his mouth, I might not have recognized him.

I haven't watched the first one, but I never really got the desire to see it.

It's actually a better movie then I thought it would be; I'm looking forward to the second

Default Jim Carrey Denounces Own Movie

    Can't support 'Kick-Ass 2' due to violence

Newser) – Jim Carrey is having second thoughts about Kick-Ass 2, in which he plays a superhero named Colonel Stars and Stripes. The R-rated film is a sequel to the ultra-violent Kick-Ass, and Carrey filmed it a month before the Sandy Hook shootings, he explained on Twitter yesterday. "And now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence," he wrote, continuing, "My apologies to others involve [sic] with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."

Mark Millar, who wrote the comic books the films are based on, responded on his website, the Huffington Post reports. "Jim is a passionate advocate of gun-control and I respect both his politics and his opinion, but I'm baffled by this sudden announcement as nothing seen in this picture wasn't in the screenplay 18 months ago," wrote Millar. "Ironically, Jim's character in Kick-Ass 2 is a Born-Again Christian and the big deal we made of the fact that he refuses to fire a gun is something he told us attracted him to the role in the first place." The film is out Aug. 16.

Wonder how Jim will feel if the box office is huge.

Not only has Carrey been exposed as not as good as we once thought he was, but he's a colossal douchebag.

I'm a huge fan of the first movie. I list it, Watchmen, and Mystery Men as my favorite comic book movies of all time.

A little worried this one will suffer from Hit Girl being 16 (not as cool as an 11 year old doing what she did), lack of Big Daddy/Nick Cage, and lack of Mark Strong as the villain (who impressed me more every time I watched it). All those things really appealed to me.

I'll see it opening day, but will go in with lowered expectations. Hoping for the best though.

The Jim Carrey stuff is interesting in that he probably gave more pub to the movie by announcing he would not promote it than if he had done the regular interviews,
