Maybe i'm alone in this, but I think the perfect thing for Eddie to do while waiting for whatever to happen with VH, is for him to release a solo record of instrumentals like Vai or Satch.

IMO, It seems like the perfect thing for him to do that doesn't depend on making a decision on "Van Halen", and can satisfy the musican within.

Doubt it will happen, but it should.

Well, that's not exactly what i'm talking about.

I just think Ed should go into the studio with his guitar, and make some instrumental music. No Vocals, Just do an EVH version of Passion and Warfare or something. I think it could be brillant. Say what you want about Van Halen in it's current state, but if you didn't have to worry about a singer, There could be some great music that the fans could love without bitching about who should sing. And don't do it under the name "Van Halen", insinuating it's VH mach IV. Just like Vai or Satriani, do it as an Eddie Van Halen solo album. No decision has to be made about Van Halen the band, and the fans can get new music from their favorite guitarist.

Everybody's happy.

I think this kind of album would be incredible coming from Eddie. He could even pull it off with a drum machine... Just an album filled with nothing but feeling that Ed just emanates naturally.

How about releasing one or more of the "three albums of material" he bragged about having in the can recently(in addition to all the original songs on "The Unlist" on the offical site)
The song ain't dirty
It's really just the way we sing it

He's said a million times he's never do it. I believe him.

However, I think he should. It would be awesome.

I'd LOVE to hear it!

I think this would be an incredible thing for him to do. And I would love it if he followed up the release of something like that with a small club tour. Man, what I wouldn't give to see just Ed on a small stage with a guitar and maybe a piano too. Who knows? Maybe this would be the perfect answer for him instead of continuing the Van Halen/Lead Singer Soap Opera?
Could this be magic?

It might be cool. It might not. His concert solos over the years seem to be a collection of old ideas and solos of the past. At VH concerts, that is about the only time I am bored. The only other time I am bored is during the bass solo, because Mike just seems to run around TRYING to make cool sounds by beating the hell out of his bass. It sounds cool, but it ain't very musical at all. He and Kirk Hamster would get along pretty damn well!!LOL!!
Anyway, a solo project might be cool, but it would never be VH. And RIGHT NOW, all I want is a reunion with Roth. Anything else bores me like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Now, about any Roth reunion....Roth should stay within his vocal range and realize he ain't 21. It sounds like this tour he is pretty reserved as far as running around the stage. Sounds like he is focusing on the music more. That's good. I think if ALL the egos would take a break for about 10 years, we the fans would be pretty damn happy with the results. Oh, but this is about a solo record. Sorry, not interested.
Van Halen without the original 4 is just not Van Halen.

That was before his brother's ex-brother inlaw arranged a deal with WBsaying that they would.
Ed was backed into a corner and got impatient with Sam and called Dave to help pull his ass out of the fire. But then remembered why he hadn't worked with Dave in over 11 years and then found himself with a second or third rate frontman with a good voice but lacked in VH charisma. Got a new hip, then cancer bit his tongue, wife left him, became "cancer free" and is now in the process of putting his proffesional life back together.

It may not seem like alot to most of you, but thats alot of shit to go through in the course of 6 years.
Cancer, no matter where it is, takes a long time to recover from. Its not like he had a cold and took some tylenol and woke up felling better the next day. Sure the cancer goes away, but you are still left very weak and it takes alot to regain your strength that you once had. Maybe he has been working in the studio, but only in short batches.
But it sure was nice to hear that he played on a stage the other night again.
Its a good start to being back on the bigger stage in front of 15-20 thousand screaming fans a night.
