    Default Wolfgang Necks

Does anyone know of any other maple/maple guitar necks that have the same compound profile as the wolfgang necks?
I use to like the older Ibanez necks. The were thin and wide. But after I played one of the wolfgang necks. I don't think I want to play any other neck.
I know there was another forum member that would make them for people, but I've heard he may just be building complete guitars and not just necks.

    thx,

I believe the USA Charvel San Dimas is the same compound radius with a different fret type. I see and feel no difference between my Charvel and the 2 EVH/Fender Wolfs I have other than the frets and the headstock.
I am basing this on the 2008-2010 USA Charvel---not the early 80's model.

I could be wrong, but the Peavey Wolfgangs had a flat radius of 15" and a assymetrical profile of .810. The new EVH wolfs are a radius of 12-16" with a neck profile of C .800.

The new EVH stripes guitars have a pretty similar profile, and you can always order necks with those specs from Warmoth & USACustom Guitars.

Thanks for the info. I looked at USA Customs their virtual guitars shows a US-4 peghead which is close to the wolfgang but a little different and I actually like that. I'm not wanting an exact peghead copy. But I do want the wolfgang neck characteristics. I know there are a few variations between the different makes EBMM,Peavey, and now Fender.

I won't pretend I know all the actual measurements of the various wolfgang necks. And if someone were to tell me how I could go about checking/measuring my necks I would be happy to do so in an effort to narrow down what I'm looking to get made.

Let me try to describe what I have.
The one copied neck I have is an awesome Birdseye maple, has a 1-11/16 nut width and the shape of the back seems thinner than my two Peavey WGS necks but the it feels more pronounced like a sharper "C" shape. My OLP neck seems a little thinner and more "U" shaped.
I'll measure them up once someone clues me in on what and where I need to measure them.
