    Default Modern Cruise Ship Nightmares

The stories are all too frequent.

Here's the latest nightmare from the Cruise Ship, The Carnival Triumph:

IF, I ever go on a cruise, I'm taking my own supply of canned meat, energy bars, and a portable toilet.... just in case.

Don't get the overflowing toilets. They are in the ocean. Just piss over the side!

I have only taken one cruise ever...it was a Carnival cruise. I always thought of cruises as something old people did....but Carnival made it very cost effective for the spring breakers

didn't much care for it, but the party I was with on that cruise was not a fun bunch

always wanted to try it again with a different group of people...for example, people who don't want to sit in the cabin and read and who wanted to go on shore excursions

but I know someone who used to go on 2 or 3 cruises a year and they always said to stay away from Carnival cruises

you hear so much about crime on board, norovirus and other epidemics I don't know if cruises are the thing for me

oh well, at least they didn't have the experience that Earl Weaver had on that Orioles cruise

I've never been on a cruise but recent events would not stop me from going on one. These ships run every day of the year and 99% of the time with no issues. Family and friends have been on them and loved every minute. My Mom and Step Dad spent a month on one cruising around Europe. They loved it!

Carnival had singles cruises back in the 70s they were a fuck fest. They don't have them anymore.

I love hearing the stories of these people about how terrible it is. It's a ship...you're still afloat, you have cell access at times, it's warmish for this time of year. You are inconvenienced. At least your captain didn't show boat through a small passageway or whatever it was and sink the damn ship. You will be reunited with 2013 soon enough, a few days of roughing it won't kill you.

I hope noone gets hurt in the stampede to get off that ship once it makes port but i bet the cellphone videos that we see once they get their phones charged will show that it wasmore than just an inconvenience

More like 99.99999% of the time. Cruising is very safe.

Carnivals rock and roll cruises are good but they sell out in 10 min.

I've never had much desire to go on one. I know there are activities and drinking, but being on a boat for an extended length of time just isn't something that I would want to do.

From a technology standpoint I can't believe that these ships don't have multiple backup systems for these types of scenarios. It does seem that these events are happening more frequently on the ships.

forget about technology, I can't believe that there is no way to safely evacuate that ship

certainly launching the life boats is a risk that is too high to take....didn't Carnival just have half a dozen workers killed in a life boat drill a few weeks ago?

but you would think that there is some way to get at least the elderly and children off that ship
