I've never seen that before, thanks! Funny that Dave wasn't with them here though huh? A few days before the release of GHV1. Tells me that MTV might have had more to do with the whole VMA disaster after all.

Oh Jesus, that was something to watch. I'm not sure what to think about it though.

You can clearly here audience members shouting out, " Who's the singer ? ", and " What about Dave ? " . L.O.L.

What a fucked up time back then. It was worth it though, for those 2 new songs.

    Wow, Ed looks really thin.

Dude, they didn't release anything of note for another sixteen years, I don't think one good song and one average at best song was worth it.

I would have much rather they had rode it out with Sam if they were going to go to Cherone and as someone else put it, "shoot their career in the foot...with a bazooka".
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

I think it is obvious by Sam's accounts, DLR's accounts, and his public appearances that "crazy Ed" had already made his way to the forefront of Ed's persona by 1996, if not sooner. Happy for him that it seems he is finally back to being a normal human being.

The VMAs were on September 4, 1996. Dave's "Open Letter" accusing the Van Halens of the BOVI songs being a "publicity stunt" and him being an "unwitting participant in this deception" while they had already hired another singer was released on October 2, 1996. A couple of days later on October 4, 1996, Ed and Alex were interviewed on the Mark & Brian show and stated they were 99.9% sure they were hiring Cherone. The BOVI was released on October 22, 1996. The comment made towards the end of this video stating the BOVI was coming out "next Tuesday" puts this Foundations Forum Awards presentation somewhere between October 16-22, 1996. Thus, that's why Dave wasn't with them there.

Wow that brought back memories dude. I remember I was in Bogota, Colombia at the time the letter from Dave came out. I was bummed. Just imagine Wolfy was only 5 then. Wow, time flies.

Lol at the guy who keeps shouting "Who's the singer?!"

I wish someone could have told him then: "You don't want to know, man. You don't want to know."
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.
