Default Obama is first since Eisenhower to win 51% twice...

Sorry boys. I know this one hurts!

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-0...-51-twice.html

Eight weeks after the Nov. 6 presidential election, a revised vote count in New York shows that Barack Obama is the first president in more than five decades to win at least 51 percent of the vote twice.

State election officials submitted a final tally Dec. 31 that added about 400,000 votes, most of them from provisional ballots in the Democratic-stronghold of New York City that were counted late in part because of complications caused by superstorm Sandy.

Obama nationally won 65.9 million votes -- or 51.1 percent of the vote -- against Republican challenger Mitt Romney, who took 60.9 million votes and 47.2 percent of the total, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Obama is the first president to achieve that level of support in two elections since Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956 and the first Democrat to do so since Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944.

I finally got good, solid, stable employment and now I'm wondering if being on entitlements would make me wealthier. I hear the benefits are wonderful...

Really just more of an anomaly, because no race is the same. If Anderson (a Republican that ran as an independent) hadn't run, not to mention if Ed Clark (who had the most votes as a Libertarian candidate until Gary Johnson this year) hadn't run, both in 1980, Reagan would've done it.

When a guy like Perot gets 19% and 8% in 1992 and 1996, respectively, it's tough to know what might have happened, but it's possible either Bush or Clinton would have done it.

Back in the 19th century and before, there were wild swings. Jefferson defeat Adams with 61%, yet in a 3-way race in 1956, Fillmore and Frémont split 55% of the vote, giving Buchanan the win. In a 4-way race in 1860, Lincoln won with only 40%, yet in 1864 he got 55% of the vote.

This is one of those stats that's more interesting than informational.

Obviously if there isn't a viable third candidate it can certainly happen. Not sure why anyone is making a big deal over it. And over such a lousy President too. To gloat? Why? What has he done worth gloating over?

    This is Melowese Richardson.

Melowese is an Ohio poll worker who admits voting twice for Obama in the last election (a felony). Plus she filled out her granddaughter’s absentee ballot (another felony). Plus her granddaughter voted twice (another… oh hell, you get it). Plus there were three other absentee ballots from her address with the same handwriting. “So were these all legal votes in your mind?” she was asked. “Absolutely legal votes,” she answered.
