According to some things I've heard (and of course they're just rumors), Sammy has had a change of heart regarding a VH reunion.

Apparently, he'd be willing to consider it, but only after he and Eddie got together to discuss their outstanding issues over the breakup.

A ray of sunshine? A ray of hope? Perhaps. This all hinges on whether or not it's true and whether or not Eddie would be willing to consider it. Still, after the failed reunion with Dave, it's at least hopeful.

I don't think it's ever going to happen with Dave. If it was meant to happen, it would've happen. The excuse given by Eddie that the lawyers got in the way is just that, an excuse. If Eddie and Dave had wanted it to happen, it would've happened by now. Dave will remain history.

As for Sam, who knows...? While Eddie may be considering a fourth singer, the reality is that VH fans have already soured on the band a bit because of their inactivity and lack of communication with the fans. The fans didn't give Gary a shot and I doubt a new and/or unknown vocalist will do much better.

I think if Sammy and Eddie could put their egos aside, there's a chance that the mighty Van Hagar could live again!

mighty Van Hagar???? Use the word "mighty" wisely, because it does not belong in front of Van Hagar.
Lets Hope VH gets some Sensible Shoes that lead them back to Dave.

you know eddie should just call sammy, i mean it did not work with dave and it never will, if we think it could work with dlr we are just foolin are selfs.
i really think sammy wants back in and i think eddie and alex should at least give it a try.
i loved both eras of van halen and i love all those albums with dave and would love to have him back, but i know it wont work, they may get an album out but it wont last on tour and that for sure would be the end of vh. they should give it ago with sammy and then take it from there.

C'mon, who outside of the forums is going to pay $60-$100 to see a Van Hagar setlist that is probably going to look something like this:

The Seventh Seal
Big Fat Money
Runaround
Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)
Amsterdam
When It's Love
Can't Stop Lovin' You - Bass Solo
Best Of Both Worlds
Feelin'
Guitar Solo - Eagles Fly
316 - Eddie's Guitar Solo
Why Can't This Be Love
Finish What Ya Started
Right Now
Panama
Dreams

That shit ain't gonna cut it in 2002.

i think vh would sell out their shows with either dlr/sammy back. and as long as they put out new music and play some old stuff we would be happy.
i also think they might even get some younger fans to.

The ONLY reason Sham is throwing this shit out there now is because Dave said what he did on VH1 and a few other places recently. Sam doesn't want to be left out so he is going to try to suck his way back in. I personally prefer a 4th singer over Hagar. Sammy Hagar has a great voice, no question, but he is like a little kid or a politician. Always tear down your opponent no matter how much truth there is to your argument. Sooner or later people will start to believe your garbage.

Just because DLR solo playing mostly Van Halen tunes can only bring in 5K per night.........doens't mean that Van Halen playing Van Halen tunes will do any worse.

There's only one way to find out........

Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

I've never seen Eddie live. So, if in fact they ever do anything again, doesn't matter with who, I'd like to see them at least once.

I can live with a set list that would be something like this:

One way to Rock
5150
New song
Summer Nights
Jump
Top of the World
New song
Don't Tell Me What love Can Do
When Its Love
Finish What Ya Started
I'm The One
Little Dreamer
Aftershock
Runaround
New song
New song
Really Got Me
Feelin'
Best of Both Worlds
Love Walks In
Right Now

encore

Panama
New song
Humans Being

That would sure as shit beat what we are getting now.
