Default VIDEO MOCKS STARS FOR DEMANDING GUN RULES

    Just saw this on youtube.

†"He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal" -Camille Paglia on Donald Trump

"Make way for the bad guy"- Tony Montana

'This hamburger don't need no helper"- David Lee Roth

"I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

"My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

"But being number one doesnít really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen

That was my first thought when I heard about it, I wondered how many of them had been in violent movies.

Not that there is necessarily is a correlation, but the hypocrisy does know no bounds.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Very effective video and does show the hypocrisy among the Hollywood elites. Honestly I have a hard time believing that violence in TV and video games has zero effect on people. You get desensitized to it after so much exposure. I mean I can just think about myself and porn. Shit when I was a kid in the 80's, just seeing a playboy was like "wow check that shit." Then I graduated to Hustler which was more graphic. Then to soft core porn. Then to porn. By the time I got onto the Internet in 95, video porn was the sole way when feeding the geese. I was desensitized to the tried and true Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.

I can't see how seeing thousands of killings on TV or monitors can't affect people the same way.

There is a difference between fiction and reality. I didn't bother watching the (most likely) silly video, but if that's what it is... Crying about how celebs are hypocrites because they play in violent movies, but also agree with gun control then I'll pass on the vid.

That said, I'm not all that keen on listening to celebs opinions on anything other than movies. But I don't hold it against them in the end. Heck, like I said before, I think Norris is an over the top right winger that I agree with very seldom, but in the end, I still watch the films.

A lot of 80's action films are right wing propaganda, but I watch them anyway. Am I a hypocrite for complaining about patriotism and neo con policies while also watching films that basically glorify it? The Delta Force is about as right wing action as they get and I love that cheesy ass movie.

I've watched violent movies since I was 6 years old and I would say that I'm far from desensitized.

Think about it a different way. Remember about 10 years ago about how Will and Grace were going to show the first homosexual kiss on broadcast TV? Remember how cutting edge it was? People were picketing whatever network it was, praising it, etc. Now today a same sex kiss doesn't even get a mention in a news rag. Why? Because people don't get all worked up in arms over homosexuals on TV anymore. They were systematically programmed to go "ehhh no big deal" by other shows upping the ante.

The same happens with violence in movies. Believe me you took Django Unchained and released it in the 70's, it would get a XXX rating for violence. Remember when Scarface was released and how violent that was? Heck if it wasn't for the swearing, they wouldn't even need to edit it to show on network TV.

Even Tarantino's movies have upped the violence compared to Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.

Look at the popularity of idiot TV shows like Jersey Shore and Honey Boo Boo. You think those would have been popular 20 years ago had you put them on TV? Heck no. What happened is a shift in our viewing habits which allowed idiotic reality TV not only to be accepted but also to get ratings.

How about music? I remember when Ozzy was viewed as the devil. I would have to open my Xmas gifts of Blizzard and Diary in another room from my religious sister. Now today his music is considered classic rock. Compared to Slayer he is Mother Theresa. Slayer to some of the death metal from Sweden is Princess Di. Every form of music pushes the envelope. Same with film. After awhile those radical or cutting edge artists just don't seem so cutting edge. They become lame. My parents thought Led Zeppelin were heavy metal. Today its just rock.

As radical elements because accepted, they become the new norm. Same happens with violence in movies. What used to be shocking isn't so any more. You just accept it and move on.

I am not saying that movie violence the leading cause of our recent shootings, however to say it has no bearing is simply ignorant. Everything in our society has a part to play in this blatant disrespect of human life.

No but I have a grip on reality. There are some that don't and unfortunately porn pushed them over the edge. Just like I can drink booze or smoke pot and not turn out to be an addict.

I am a libertarian at heart so don't think I am advocating censorship of any kind. However Hollywood has a play in this as well

Violent crimes have actually went down the last 10 years despite obvious population increase and tough economic times.

Don't wanna get in a pissing match here, but "ignorant" in my book means holding tight to a conclusion despite the conclusion not bearing out when examined.

Porn and pretend violence is more graphic today, yes. But facts show (without a doubt) that violence is down and decreasing at a steady clip.

Same with rape statistics. You assert that porn can push people "over the edge," but statistics are very clear - incidents of forcible rape have been declining steadily.

You may not like where the culture is going, and that's fine, but to say it's "playing a part" in shootings and rapes simply doesn't hold up. If you can find one stat that says graphic violence and porn leads to real violence and rape, I'd be happy to read it.

    (Forcible rapes in 1990 - 102,555. Forcible rapes in 2009 - 88,097)

Ok then the ability for one to buy a firearm doesn't increase violence either. I mean guns are more popular today than 10 years ago and if violence went down, one can say they are contributing to the decrease in violent crime. One can say that CCW laws are preventing crime right?

The difference between what you were saying and what I'm saying is very important and it's vital everyone know the difference.

You were stating conclusions, saying one thing contributes to (leads to, causes) another thing.

I'm saying based on facts, what you're saying is false.

You'll notice I am not stating conclusions.

I don't know why the rates of violent crimes and rapes have decreased, and I have NOT offered a causation or correlation.

Basically, I'm saying your answer is wrong. I'm not saying I know the answer.
