US Marine, "They're serious, Dad. I'll pay you back; they are going to kill me."

The father of a U.S. Marine jailed in Mexico after being caught with his grandfather's antique shotgun heard the fear in his son's voice and felt helpless.

The phone call came at midnight from Mexico's notorious CEDES prison, where Jon Hammar Jr. has been held since August. The caller demanded $1,800, then put Hammar on to drive the point home.

"They're serious, Dad," Jon Hammar Sr. heard his son say. "I'll pay you back; they are going to kill me."

    FUCK MEXICO

    http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/new...led-in-mexico/

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Held captive in one of Mexico's most infamous prisons, Marine veteran Jon Hammar is seen chained to a bed in a new photo sent to the family from an anonymous Mexican email account.

"His eyes look a little lost," an emotional Olivia Hammar, his mother, told Fox News Latino. "It doesn't look like him. I feel like my blood pressure is through the roof."

The photo offers the first glimpse of Hammar since he was detained by Mexican authorities on August 15 and was sent anonymously from a Yahoo.mx account.

Hammar and a friend were arrested on federal charges of possessing a weapon reserved for military use in Mexico on the border. According to Hammar and his family, the gun was an antique shotgun that had belonged to his great grandfather.

"I found your email on the Internet and I wanted to send you this photo," the email read in Spanish. "I am not giving you my name because I like my job and I don't want to lose it. Juan is OK but I hope he is let out quickly."

Hammar's parents, Olivia and Jon, have only visited the prison once but unlike past phone calls they've received in the middle of the night from prisoners trying to extort money, Olivia believes this comes from "someone trying to help."

"Where he is in the prison, he's right next to the administrative offices," Olivia said. "All of the inmates, staff, all of the visitors walk right by there. So anyone could have taken the photo."

It is difficult to decipher who sent the photo because the Matamoros state prison Hammar is in, nicknamed CEDES, has a fairly open guest policy. Visitors are allowed to meet with inmates privately and even give them food and gifts.

Hammar and his fellow marine friend Ian Mcdonough were on their way to Costa Rica to surf and camp in a Winnebago in Costa Rica in August when they were both arrested on federal charges of possessing a weapon reserved for military use in Mexico on the border. Hammar’s friend was later released because the gun did not belong to him.

He was in a foreign nation with an illegal weapon, that'll get you tossed in jail in just about every nation (including yours). Would it not?

I feel bad for the guy, and he probably was just bringing it along for sentimental reasons, but at SOME point you would think he would go "you know, I am in a foreign country with a fucking shotgun, this might not be too smart."
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Yup. I'm guessing if I show up in buffalo with a shotgun next week that the cops might have a different hotel picked for me. Just a guess.
