I'm kind of surprised they didn't get nominated for at least the Hard Rock category.

But no it isn't much of a surprise. Van Halen has never been the critic's darling so getting ignored like this isn't new. Both Van Halen and Rush deserve to be nominated but they are not "buzz bands" that are hip with the younger generation....oh well. Still album of the year for me

Them not getting a Grammy nom only makes me more happy. If people knew how the process really worked they wouldn't care about it.

I honestly don't see why Coldplay and Muse gets so much hype. Must be a generational thing for me but I just don't get the love for their music. From what I have heard from them they both put out really boring and sappy music. I just can't get into them at all.

Shouldn't Mumford and Sons be in the Bluegrass category? Are they really considered "Rock"?

    Anyone read this article?

Yeah, these are the kind of "artists" that get rewarded now.

I tried to listen to Mumford and Sons, couldn't even get through one song.

No clue why VH isn't on there. It is an awesome album, one of the best albums i've ever heard.

I like that song Love Bites by Halestorm, I hope it wins.

Coldplay gets circulated en masse because they're innocuous. They're so utterly boring, there is nothing really to hate about them except for the utter and complete lack of creativity, uniqueness, edge or even a voice. They're a perfect blend of all thing mediocre. No wonder the masses love them.

Ha!! No doubt!! Sad thing is this describes most of these newer bands today. I could go on a rant about 95% of today's "popular music" but I will just sound like a broken record.

As for Springsteen...he could shit on a record and it would get nominated. I respect Bruce but man...the love for all things Springsteen is a little over the top at times.
