    Default Black Friday 2012

    Wal-Mart unveils Black Friday deals

Phase 1: Beginning at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, the best in-store deals are on toys, games, home goods and clothing. These include Xbox 360 4GB with SkyLanders bundle for $149; Nintendo's Wii console for $89; a Crock Pot 6-quart slow cooker and Mr. Coffee programmable 12-cup coffee maker for $9.44 each; DVD and Blu-ray movies for $1.96 to $9.96 each; video games for $10 to $25 each; Barbie, Bratz and Disney Princess dolls for $5 each.

Phase 2: At 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, the deals mostly focus on electronics. Among them, Samsung 43-inch, 720p plasma HDTV for $378; HP 15.6 -inch laptop with 4GB and 320GB hard drive for $279; Beats by Dr. Dre headphones for $179.95 and Samsung Smart ST195 digital camera for $99.

Between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., Wal-Mart is also guaranteeing that customers who are already inside its store and waiting online will be able to buy three special deals -- Apple iPad2 16GB with Wi-Fi for $399 plus get a $75 Walmart gift card; Emerson®32" 720p LCD TV for $148 and LG Blu-ray Player for $38. MacNaughton said the Wal-Mart is offering that guarantee because it has enough inventory of those three products to meet the anticipated demand.

Phase 3: On Black Friday, Wal-Mart's deals, which roll out at 5 a.m., mostly focus on home goods, jewelry, tires and furniture.

Wal-Mart is also offering separate Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday deals on electronics, TVs and toys that will only be available online.

I think the roll out approach is smarter...I think JCP started doing this a few years ago, at least

the crazy behaviour of people on black friday has got to be managed....I for one never liked the black friday thing and now that you get most of the same deals on line, I just let my fingers do the walking rather than risk my life

Has anyone here used those Beats headphones? I find it hard to believe that the audio quality on those things are so amazing that it is actually worth the price. And a Wii for $90? They must be getting desperate.

My big thing with these sales this year is finding a TV for my bedroom (and later dorm room).

My son has a set his mother bought him. $230.00 In his compressed mp3 world.... a total waste of money. Threw them on my rig, and they are pretty decent though.

I have a pair of skull candy aviators that were like 159 that blow beats audio away. I bought me wife the beats and they have too much bass. Mine are perfect.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50's sound better for much less, but that's if you're interested in sound quality over appearance and marketing hype.

I am old enough to remember when the term "door buster sale" was just an expression

already got lowes black friday preview and it's...... meh.

honestly, I cannot think of anything I or my family members really need........ although that 40 inch LCD TV would make a great gift for any number of family members...just not sure I want to risk my life for it

I've got a pair, The Solo model, they are decent enough pretty good for not Having Noise canceling. I travel a lot for my work and they come in handy on a plane, compact too.

I don't think there's enough money in the country to drag me into my local WM on Black Friday.

So, this thread should really be renamed "Black Thursday."

I predict in 4 years there will be black Wednesday deals.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I use Skullcandy headphones - I find them fantastic; and they're like $30 for the earbuds.
Winners come and go; legends are forever.
