    Default DLR's New YouTube channel?

I apologize if this has already been posted, couldn't find it, but it seems DLR has a YouTube channel, and there are a couple videos of DLR that I haven't seen before.

Again, mods please close if this is redundant.

Edit - there is some DLR music on this one that I haven't heard before.

Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Okay but what's the point of this interview/video?

Roth has some vocabulary - but his talent is still as a rock singer. Maybe it's a good thing youtube wasn't around in the 80s...

not to sound crass, but did you listen to it all?

Its about the differences between language and culture....

and the problems of trying to comprehend/convey sarcasm in a land that doesn't use it like we do...

its just Dave sharing a little personal food for thought

Sure Dave is widely known as a "rock singer" and that talent is what made him a household name....but for those that have followed him over the years..they also know that Dave likes to branch out from time to time and give his unique views on things in different ways (kind of like the radio show he did). I think this is just an extention of that. I'm not sure if there is a certain point to be made by him doing videos on youtube....but at least he is trying to stay a little busy during the downtime in Van Halen. Something like this is right up Dave's alley and I'm sure he will have fun doing it. I just hope that this is just a little thing to kill some time before the next VH tour or record. Time will tell.....

I don't know what's more absurd ... Dave's random sense of life... or people's rather interesting reactions to his videos. It's almost like people don't know who Dave is, or have no knowledge of how bizarre he is.

Bingo! Dave is one multidimensional cat! I can imagine he can be tough to be around a lot but at the same time he is just so damn interesting as a person. It's a big part of his charm that people have a hard time understanding when it comes to Dave. He has a unique style about him that can drive people nuts and at the same time make people think wow this guy is pretty damn smart.

Had not heard his cover of Ain't That Peculiar before. Sounds like that was recorded around the same time as Bad Habits and other covers he has done, roughly 1995-1996?

On the new one "my best relationships have been equal parts horror and fascination. Fascination on my part, horror on hers."

Agree completely. I am constantly blown away by how many times I hear or read complaints about how Dave "used to be so cool and now he's so weird". Even regarding his stage antics. He's always been like this. Tons of people apparently formed an opinion of him solely based on what they heard on the old albums and have never gotten just how eccentric he has always been. I love that about him and always have and it always strikes me as odd when other VH fans act like they're embarrassed of that now. He is also not now nor ever been some kind of hard rock/metal guy. He's always been more about Motown/Elvis/lounge/showtunes than he ever was about heavy rock. And he'd be much happier covering Sinatra (as he has) than any hard rock song. It still blows my mind that some fans think of him as, and expect him to be, some sort of metal god. That's why they get so flustered and think something has happened to him when he does the bluegrass stuff or sings with the Boston Pops. They don't understand that that's really the way he's always been.

They just created some image in their heads that was not ever real. It's exactly the same thing with the guys in Rush, I hear all the time "They used to be so cool and serious and mysterious and now they're just goofy and silly". No, they've always been exactly like that and only a little bit of paying attention would make that clear. The difference now that there is waaayyy more of a window into these bands than just hearing a song or seeing an album cover because of the internet and other media (live dvds, etc.) that we didn't used to have. People have projected onto these musicians personalities that never existed.

I don't know what he's sayin'--but I loves the way he says it! Here's to a couple thousand more Roth Show episodes to tide us over to the next Van Halen/Curb Your Enthusiasm outputs. DLR's almost as funny as LD. Close one.

While I agree that he's not a metal god and never was (He's very diverse and an entertainer in the classic sense of the word), I still think the DLR of the last 15-20 years of his public life is very different than the DLR of the first 15 years in the way he acts. YMMV as they say.
