    Default Bruce Dickinson and Eddie

I would love to hear a Bruce Dickinson and Eddie Van Halen collaboration. I think they are both among the best in their fields and both can still really rock. I would love to hear a voice that can hit the right notes and have significant sustain in combination with Ed's return to rock guitar. Maybe just a dream - but it could be outstanding.

Hey everyone has a right to dream! But this is one match up that does not make sense at all.He is way to operatic for it to work ,Ed is way to modern of a player.I know sometimes opposites match but not in this case Im hearing it as I type

    Ya never know.

Bruce Dickinson is smart. He has an intellectual curiosity comparable to David Lee Roth's, and a "technically stronger voice," (like Hagar and Cherone did,) but -- I have "Balls to Picasso" and "Accident of Birth," in addition to the mid-80s Iron Maiden albums -- I imagine Bruce and Van Halen would meet on some prog-rock territory, (somewhere between "III" and "Skunkworks") which when combined with the science/literature themed lyrics, would leave Van Halen with an approximately 99.3% male fanbase.

David Lee Roth brings some diverse musical influences to Van Halen - from the obsession with songs from the '20s, to '60s R&B melodies, and '70s funk, punk, and glam sensibilities - which, combined with the Van Halens' classic rock, classical, and early metal influences, make the meeting grounds they find in their own music compelling... The "technical" aspect of singing -- IMO, it's kind of a moot point compared with whether the singer's sensibilities create great music... Like the new Van Halen album.

I guess this was common knowledge to most, but I saw Bruce on Hard Talk and was surprised to find he is a commercial airline pilot. Seems like a very sober guy and very business-minded a bit like Bon Jovi.

That said, not a big fan of his voice. Sue me.

If you get a chance to watch Flight 666 dvd, do so. These guys, especially Bruce, are businessmen and musicians and functional

I would love to see a Katy Perry and It's Mike collaboration. Not sure either of these thoughts deserves it's own thread but let's see where this goes.
