    Default RIP Mark Rockstah Abrahamian

Mark was one of 2 guys that could fool me into thinking I was listening to Eddie play the guitar...He nailed that sound we all obsess over.

Just knew the guy from forums...my condolences to any of you that knew him personally.

Too damn young...it's a real shame.

For what it's worth...the best part about these forums is getting to know cool people you would otherwise never get a chance to know...even if it's in a small way.

    Rest in peace Mark...

Damn, that sucks! If that was him playing in the video, he nailed Ed tone perfectly!

Sucks, only knew him from the metroamp forums, but he went way too young. RIP... The guy could really nail the early VH sound and playing style, that's for certain. There's a big RIP thread going on over there in the Eddie Van Halen forum on metroamp.com.

Man, he nailed Ed's early tone.

46, damn, that is way too young.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Mark really was as cool as people made him out to be and as cool as he seemed on the forums. Back in April I was lucky enough to have Mark mod my 50W Marshall JCM 800 2 x 12 combo amp...here is a clip (that some of you may have heard before) that was the first thing I recorded when my amp came back from Mark:

Mark was very patient and committed to helping me and many others achieve the Van Halen tones of our childhood dreams. He taught me alot about amps, pickups, speakers and recording...especially mic placement. I never met him in person, but we talked on the phone a few times and of course we corresponded through the MetroAmp forum and later through his own forum on his amp modding site.

    Rest easy Mark...

Once again, RIP... way to young to go. Did anyone else notice that when you look at him in that picture and just allow you eyes to scan past his face but not focus on it entirely, that he bears a resemblance to Ed.

I'll admit that my friends and I used to knock the song We Built This City back when it was released. Looking back on it though it's a decent representation of 80's pop/rock in all its cheesy glory. I think it was the video more than anything that we made fun of- Grace Slick is a bit scary looking in it. Once again, looking back, at least we had pop/rock videos to make fun of then. I mean no disrespect and Mark wasn't part of that original band anyway. I'll bet this Starship touring gig was a real dream job for him.
