    Default RE-RELEASE OF DEBUT

CHICKENFOOT: Debut Album To Be Re-Released With Bonus Tracks - Aug. 28, 2012

The self-titled debut album from CHICKENFOOT will be re-released as a deluxe double-disc version on October 16. The set will feature live tracks recorded on the band's "Different Devil" tour this past spring while supporting its sophomore album, "Chickenfoot III".

Commented CHICKENFOOT frontman Sammy Hagar: "'Chickenfoot' will always be special to me for exactly what it is.

"Our former label went out of business and the album had been discontinued. You could not find the album anywhere, which is crazy! We got the masters back and our new label will re-release the first album and we thought we should include some live tracks from 'Chickenfoot lll'."

    "Chickenfoot" deluxe version track listing:

    Disc 1

    01. Avienda Revolution
    02. Soap On A Rope
    03. Sexy Little Thing
    04. Oh Yeah
    05. Runnin Out
    06. Get It Up
    07. Down The Drain
    08. My Kinda Girl
    09. Learning To Fall
    10. Turnin Left
    11. Future Is The Past

    Disc 2

    01. Bitten By The Wolf
    02. Lighten Up (live in Chicago May 12, 2012)
    03. Big Foot (live in Seattle June 6, 2012)
    04. Last Temptation (live in Seattle June 6, 2012)
    05. Something Going Wrong (live in Boston May 16, 2012)

CHICKENFOOT's sophomore album, "III", sold 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's self-titled debut opened with 49,000 units back in June 2009 to debut at No. 6.
"He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal" -Camille Paglia on Donald Trump

"Make way for the bad guy"- Tony Montana

'This hamburger don't need no helper"- David Lee Roth

"I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

"My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

"But being number one doesn’t really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen

Had no idea you couldn't find CF1 anywhere but does it really matter? Doesn't everybody just download music now??

I only occasionally download. Most of my purchases are CDs. I see no harm in them wanting to keep their album in print.

    Lighten Up from Chicago. Cool

Not enough to get me to buy it though. If there were bonus studio tracks and outtakes that none of us heard before, that would sell me.

Well I'm 44 and all I do is download music. No part of my iPhone gets more use than the music part of it. CD's are extinct from my world as of about 4 years ago.

Got a year on you and 99% of my music is downloaded. Will buy an occasional CD if I find one I like on sale, other than that, iTunes.

I only buy CD's when it something I will play in the car, as I think the CD sounds better than the Mp3's.

    Everything else I download.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I'll only buy the CD now if I really want the artwork/packaging that comes with it. Buying ADKOT on CD was a MUST for me as was Rush's Clockwork Angels and Slash's new album. I also bought the CDs for the deluxe Def Leppard albums that came out several years ago for the packaging. I usually just upload the songs to my iTunes from the cd and play it on that or put it on my iPod though....the CD is hardly ever used beyond that. I think in the last 4 years I have bought only 14 CDs total.

Agreed. I think CD's sound better than mp3's, period. And this is after nearly a decade of heavy iPod/iPhone use. I recently bought a new CD player to go with my powered monitors, and to me the CD's nearly always sound cleaner and crisper than the mp3 versions. Even when I rip mp3's at 320 Mbps from the CD, it loses punch and clarity to my ears. With iTunes vs. CD there's no contest. Ultimately, sound is more important to me than portability. The convenience of having a music library in my pocket is nice, but on a good system the flaws are evident. I'll admit I haven't used FLAC, but that's a lot of time and storage space to invest. Plus I've gone back to enjoying album listening vs. the random shuffle. Having the artwork and liner notes is nice too. I may get back into vinyl eventually.

I'll get this new CF release, since I only have CFIII on disc so far. Good excuse for me to own it and have a listening party in my man cave.

Still buy cd's. I like having the "collection". Rip them to itunes, then to iphone. Bam!

I do the same thing. My car cd player is broken so I don't really have a place where it's necessary to play CDs. But probably 90% of the music I buy is on CD. I rip it to my computer and usually never play it again, but I just like having a physical representation of the music I bought and having artwork and liner notes and stuff. I feel like I'm getting more value for the money I pay.

I am like that too. I like having the collection, or at least I used to. It just got to a point for me where I didn't have room anymore for all the cases. Right now most of them are stored in boxes and it started to become a pain to dig through them all to find something. I used to be big on buying the bootleg concert cds at the local record shop and that really made my collection huge....too many cases to deal with for me now and not enough shelf room to display them. Also have several boxes of cassette tapes that are collecting dust. Lots of $$$ on those I wish I could get back lol!!

My collection of hundreds of cds is currently in storage tubs in the garage. Don't even use them. Can't imagine even going to the store now to "BUY" a cd.

I think the last cd I bought was Metallica "Death Magnectic" in 2008. Even though I had uhhhh acquired it via download in mp3 a week earlier.

    ++++

I don't think I would even steal,,, I mean download legally this new Chickenfoot set. Not sure if those extra track are even worth the effort to push the button on the mouse.

One of you guys can post in this thread if the sound or performance on those new track is any good.
