Default USA Today : Hurricane Irene Was The Worst Storm In A Century

    http://content.usatoday.com/communit...1#.UDF9LqllRdd

Last year’s most devastating tropical system — Hurricane Irene — was considered by some experts to be a “100-year-event,” a storm that comes around only once a century.

Irene lashed the East Coast in August, killing at least 45 people and leading to $7.6 billion in damages.

But a study out this week in Nature Climate Change says that due to global warming, these monster storms could make landfall more frequently, causing destructive storm surges every 3 to 20 years instead of once a century.

I WAS in New Orleans when Katrina hit, and I know from hardcore fact that Irene was NOT the storm of the century! Quite frankly, in the past 100 years, Katrina probably wasn't either, but to compare these 2 storms together was just fucking stupid! But, I will not undermined Irene because that storm did cause loss of life!

And par for the course, they gotta throw in their global warming itinerary into the mix! So tired of the, "THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING" brats who stir this shit up. Fuck, sometimes I wish the giant asteroid would hit so we could start over.

Earth is doing what she has always done, change! She gets warm, she gets cold, she shakes, moves and farts, then gets warm again.

Y brother works for the city of Slidell and I can confirm as I was down there when it happened after the carnage. Katrina was beyond a horrible storm. It's a once in 500 year storm. All the components where there for just a monster storm. I'll post something when I fire up the laptop later but it's from the hurricane center and it is just scary as hell.
