    Default Music for Kids

So my son (he'll be 5 in September) loves music and dances like a crazy man whenever he hears it. Unfortunately every time he's at a friend's house or a cousins house and they have a radio on and he hears a song he likes it's something like Nicki Minaj and it's hard to find cleaned up versions of these songs. It's gotten to a point where I got him listening to the Glee versions of stuff like that (he can't tell the difference and the lyrics don't include cursing).

For parents who have young kids, what music do they like that you consider "safe"? (ie no cursing, adult themes, etc).

The Wiggles, and you will have those fucking songs stuck in your head for the rest of your life.

Of course, the original singer is the best, the replacement guy sucks!

"Toot toot chugga chugga big red car, you travel quick and you travel far"

Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Too bad times have changed. When I was that age we had stacks and stacks of my parents old 45 rpms, which were all safe pop songs and such from the 50's and 60's, and an old beat up Teli-Tone to play them on. We had a good upbringing I'd say.

Hmm, Brett Michaels kids sing better than he does.

Just download the radio edits of the songs.

Even the radio edits aren't really 4 year old friendly.

True, but you gotta remember the kids are mostly just dancing to the beat. They aren't actively listening to the words, I don't think. Unless your 4 year old is singing Rude Boy. But I get your concern. The radio edits remove bad language only pretty much.

Try going on YT and ripping the instrumentals of these tracks. Most all dance music tracks released today have instrumentals on YT.

These guys are awesome, my kid still loves them (6 years old) and you, as a parent, might even enjoy listening to them, as well. Way cool kids' act:

I even took my boy to see them a few years back in Ft. Worth. He got to meet them and still talks about that show to this day.

Holy crap, that Wiggles thing brought back a lot of memories. My boys loved those guys.

And I'm with 47. When I was a kid, we had stacks of Disney records and similar silly music we listened to.

Today? Sorry, Mike. I can't help you. Good luck.
