Default Your Filthy Little Mouth remastered

Anyone have the remastered version of yflm that came out a few years back?

Always thought the original version sucked sonically and was wondering if someone had the remastered version to see if they noticed any improvements.

I've never heard it. I wasn't aware they remastered it.

Although Your Filthy Little Mouth went out of print on the Warner Bros. label in 1996, it was later reissued (in remastered form) in 2007 on the Friday Music label. All the album artwork, which follows the concept of tattoo art, was created by David Lee Roth.so he has been thinking of tatts for years! cool record he even had a song with travis tritt on there...

I bought it off amazon. Very good sound. If your a Dave guy, I'd recommend picking it up. I'm not a tech geek bit I do recognize a definite improvement, fuller sound. Maybe not as good as the vh stuff but close. No demos or new stuff. Like I said, if your a Dave guy, pick it up.

I always thought that YFLM sounded fine, so I never saw the need to buy the remaster. I did, however, buy a remaster of ALAE, which I thought sounded a little sharper than the original.

    Everybodys got the monkey

Oh Jesus, I guess I'll have to buy this one again, if it sounds better. It seems to me the one that needed remastering the most was the DLR BAND.

I'm kinda tired of rebuying cds just because they are remastered, unless they have new added bonus stuff on them. Most of the Sony/ Columbia record company remasters have cool unreleased bonus material on them, quite often live stuff, which makes it worth while to get. Like SRV, Santana, Cheap Trick and Judas Priest, just to name a few.

This album, like most of DLR's solo albums, have usually 4 songs each that I really like a lot, but usually don't listen to the whole album at once.

YFLM was, IMO , the most creative and diverse one he has done, almost like it was 3 mini e.p.'s in one collection, and when it first came out, I played the hell out of it all summer, but rarely listen to it lately. But when I do, I like, " Everybody's got the monkey ", "you're breathing it", and " Hey you never know", as well as the title song and " she's my machine"

I did not care for the duet with Travis Tritt at all, and still think it was the worst he'd ever done, as there was to much singing and thought it was just horrible, although I didn't mind " Night life" and very much enjoyed " sunburn" once in a while, and was surprised that he played it live on the 94 tour, as it was quite a mellow tune, but very nice, with the super heavy loud bass, but about a minute too long.

The pictures in the booklet next to the lyrics were awesome, its too bad they weren't in color, as " zoident" stated, they would make good tattoos. Daves official website used to have a cool gallery with some of Daves artwork too.

It's too bad Warners record company is so stingy with their remasters, by not adding anything extra, but the VH 6 pack sounded so great, if this one is half as good, I guess it will be worth it.

A Little Ain't Enough sounded pretty damn good as it was, so I'm curious to get that one too.
Hammerhead Shark was awesome, as were " drop in the bucket, its showtime, sensible shoes, and the dogtown shuffle, as well as the title track, which also had the last of Daves cool mtv videos. The bass sounded deadly on this album, but the album was too long with songs that should have been left off, too bad about Jason Becker.

To me yflm's guitar sounds muffled and sounds like it is going through a tight cylinder maybe its just my ear.

Why is it that YFLM and ALAE were remastered, yet 5150, OU812 and F.U.C.K. weren't? One would think that there would be more of a demand for a remaster of those albums.

Maybe it's because Dave has been on a major tour with Van Halen, while Sam has not?

I don't know why wb doesn't go ahead and do the remasters of the Hagar era ou812 really could use it. Im sure there is money to be made there. I know its a very long shot but it would be cool if they put numb to the touch on ou812 and/or i want some action on 5150. Clean those up and release them.

Remastering those albums means acknowledging they exist.

    That's a major no-no.

HEY!! This is a DLR thread you fuckers!!

Now ideally, instead of just simply remastering those 3 Sam era albums, they should rerecord the best stuff from all 3 with Dave and Wolf, and make 1 really good one. That would make it worth while.

This type of idea has been done before, with KISS on a greatest hits cd , that came with Sonic Boom, and also OZZY's first 2 solo albums, Blizzard of Ozz, and Diary of a Madman, at a time when OZZY's wife and manager was ticked off at the origional drummer and bass player nagging them about royalties, she just erased them from the albums and had their parts rerecorded with paid session musicians for the remastered editions.

The album could include the following , from the 3 Hager albums.

    1 Good Enough
    2 sucker in a 3 piece suit
    3 5150
    4 summer nights
    5 finish what you started
    6 best of both worlds
    7 humans being
    8 what is this love
    9 black and blue
    10 poundcake
    11 right now
    12 get up

Or basically whatever they felt was best, just an idea.

You're weird man. What a great idea, erase more of VHs history. WTF.

Like Dave could sing any of it to begin with.
