Yes. It's great for brown tones, especially early-ish VH stuff. And surprisingly, I've used my VEH for some metal, and it does really well. Usually classic 'brown' sounding pickups don't do well for metal, but this one does.

This is one of the best pickups I've ever tried that gets that 'push' feel into the amp. You can plug the VEH into a lower gain amp, and get the same touch response as most other pickups into a higher gain amp.

    THIS.

I have the bridge/neck combo in one of my EBMM clones, and they SMOKE! I don't venture much into the heavier "metal" sound very often, but for early VH "brown" tones/classic rock/80's hair metal, it's a no-brainer (and a steal for the money).

I replaced a set of EMG in an ESP Eclipse. Love them in it. I added a push/pull switch as an option. Love them... can't beat them for the price.

WOW!!! this seems to be a no brainer just going by the replies here!
I guess it IS worth the $25 used then? you guys are all VH tone fans like me so i can trust your judgment about this.
new it would cost $35 plus shipping and the one used one is nickle covered so that when i take off the cover it will be brand new!

I'll put another vote in for the VEH. I've got one in my Epi LP Custom and it's fantastic.

thanks thats my newest squeeze,Charvel CS blue quilt maple top and mahogany body.
Ok guys bought the used VEH and also bought a set of screamers
The sreamer bridge is rumored to have the same tone as a mighty mite screamer from the 70's which ed suposedly used in the strat on VH I?
The set was only $23 shipped so what the hell right? i will give it a go! the dimarzio super d did not work out for me at all for VH but i loved it for randy,JP,maiden and boston stuff!
