Default 1984 Guitar @ The EMP in Seattle. (pics)

Just one of Ed's guitars from the 1984 tour hanging at the EMP (Experience Music Project) in downtown Seattle. The room is very dark and not that conducive of non-flash pics, but we did alright.

So this is one of Eddie's guitars?
I thought this was just a pic of a guitar that someone made to look like an EVH axe.

It does say "Formerly owned by Eddie Van Halen" on the sign. Like most of these guitars previously owned by Ed it's probably a backup that was very rarely if ever played on stage. No matter, they're not claiming that or using that to try and grossly inflate a selling price.

If you read that history on that sign and were around playing in that era, isn't it amazing how far things have swung the other way? Now almost everyone wants vintage everything, guitars, amps, effects, you name it. Half the groups you see on late night tv are playing Gretsch hollow body guitars that most players wouldn't have been caught dead with back in '82.
