    Default Henry Hill Dead

Now the guy's got Paulie as a partner. Any problems, he goes to Paulie. Trouble with the bill? He can go to Paulie. Trouble with the cops, deliveries, Tommy, he can call Paulie. But now the guy's gotta come up with Paulie's money every week, no matter what. Business bad? Fuck you, pay me. Oh, you had a fire? Fuck you, pay me. Place got hit by lightning, huh? Fuck you, pay me.

Henry Hill -- the former mobster whose life story became the basis for the movie "Goodfellas" -- died today at the age of 69 ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with Hill's girlfriend Lisa ... who told us Hill passed away in an L.A. hospital Tuesday after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.

Lisa tells us, "He had been sick for a long time ... his heart gave out."

We're told Hill had focused on mending relationships with estranged family members in recent years ... and Lisa tells us he had made tremendous progress before he died.

    Hill leaves behind two children.

Hill was famously portrayed by Ray Liotta in the 1990 classic "Goodfellas."

Hill's exploits in the mob world were legendary -- but he prided himself on reforming later in life ... and became a frequent guest on the Howard Stern show.
"The less I needed, the better I felt." ~ Charles Bukowski.

I'm gonna guess "lead poisoning". In about 6-7 different places.

I've got the book goodfellas was based on sitting on my night stand (wiseguys, I think). It's a pretty good read. It's amazing how brutal these guys really were. I can't remember all of the names but the guy Dinero played was just straight up evil if you go by his portrayal in the book.

I have a couple of the howard stern interviews and henry is a very interesting guy...or was an interesting guy.

More evidence to support Scum's lead poisoning theory.

Jimmy Conway. He was none too nice in the movie, either.

It's none too easy. All the names in the movie were, for the most part, assumed. Since some people were still alive and Henry was a loose cannon during his WP time. They could easily find him because he was always getting in trouble.

I can't begin to count the number of times I've seen Goodfellas. Got addicted to it because my dad loves those mob movies. Yeah, based on his Stern Show appearances, he was quite an oddball.

they use alot of the same names in the book, everyone in the bar introduction scene is named (Fat Andy, Pete the killer etc.). Billy Batts was what that guy actually went by, he was part of the Gambino crime family, the way they actually whacked him out was a bit different in the book, not really different but different. The movie sticks to the book really well. Now I gotta sit down and re-read the book.
