Default Van Halen - 2 for 1 tix in Oakland

While the band sold out 3 shows at the Venue from 6/11-13/81, that not the case today. Just got this:

"Purchase tickets at the $79.50 rate & with each regular priced ticket purchase, get an additional ticket for the show free!"

Maybe a reason why the 2nd leg was postponed?

I thought the ticket prices were too high in 2007 and they needed to drop the prices for this tour and they didn't. Now they are for some shows, why not start the tickets reasonable and sell out all these shows instead of resorting to this. I dont doubt they are tired but certainly ticket sales could have something to do with it.

That's very odd. I'm going to the Oakland show (2nd tier, 3rd row on Wolfie's side). For kicks, I went on to ticketbastard a few days ago to look for 2 tickets together at best available. It told me they didn't exist. I'll bet when you buy one and get one free, they aren't always NEXT to each other!

Pure business. They rather sell 75% @ $160.00 then 100% @ $80.00. Most bands would. Also at the begining people are more likely to pay big bucks since only a few shows are announced.

And I fully agree that prices are way to high for second and third level tickets.

Maybe they're trying to sell tickets on the sides of the stage.

Bob Lefsetz is has tweeted about it a couple of times. Mentions ticket prices, slow sales and negative word of mouth about Dave's voice.

Bob is pretty plugged in and speaks his mind, but usually has accurate info.
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

This next part could really confuse things. Let's stay focused. #asis

I thought it was common knowledge...but I guess not: Ticketmaster has been doing 2-for-1 Tuesdays since the late '90s.

Apparently the 2 for 1 deal was only supposed to be for employees of oracle.

    Bob Lefsetz is a dork.
Here's what he said about the album:
"It sold only 187,494 copies in its debut week. And it’s not lighting up the Mediabase charts either"
Only 187,494 copies? That's pretty good in anybody's book.Take what he says with a grain of salt, he has his own bigmouth agenda and isn't respected by serious people in the industry. The ticket sales are good.Who's this guy kidding?Promoters hire the band to perform. If the tour was a stiff then all shows would be cancelled as of right now including upcoming ones. That schedule they set up was way too much.Even Springsteen is not selling out all his shows.People complained about Dave's voice back in 84 for crying out loud. You figure it out. He's been singing pretty good on some of these shows, but he looks a little tired.
