And we can Rock roll all night

Interesting... I'm assuming he created this for the film soundtrack? Any idea why it wasn't used?

I'm not sure why this song wasn't used in the film... As vaijuju said, it was re-purposed as "Tight" on the "DLR Band" album... (IMO, this song makes a lot more sense in the context of "Private Parts" than it does as "Tight.")

On Howard Stern's Van Halen special, I remember him saying that he contacted VH and asked if they would do a song with David Lee Roth for the "Private Parts" movie soundtrack. VH still had Sammy Hagar singing at the time. According to Howard, VH said they'd do it -- but the fee was more than he was willing to pay.

Also, there's a video of Howard Stern and David Lee Roth at the "Private Parts" premier. The two are in front of a big crowd, and Howard calls David, "the only lead singer of Van Halen," or something like that.

IMO, it's probably the weakest song on the "DLR Band" album -- the one that sounds like it shouldn't be there... It's like that album's "Tattoo" -- a catchy chorus, but not particularly distinguished, musically.

That said, in looking over what made it onto the "Private Parts" soundtrack, personally, I think that this track would be a welcome substitution for a lot of the songs.

Re: VH members and soundtracks... A few years later, when the movie "Armageddon" came out, I remember reading that they wanted DLR's "Slam Dunk!" in the movie, and on the soundtrack, but for some reason, DLR said "no." (That was a hit soundtrack with Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing.")

I agree Tight was the weakest song from the DLR Album. Definitely not Relentless or Wawazat.

It was interesting to hear the original lyrics here. The song sounds better as Tight IMO.

Howard Stern thought there was already enough VH material on his soundtrack and decided not to use it. Therefore DLR re-did the lyrics and included it on his solo disc.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!
