Default Wolfie's next project = Hagar Era

Late summer 2013.. Wolf is now back from a much deserved vacation with his soon to be wife (fill in name here)..

After proving himself on ADKOT album & tour and now recognized as the undisputed leader of the Van Halen machine, he wants to tackle the unreleased Sammy Hagar material. Sammy has just come of his "retro tour" and has been quoted in the press as having a great deal of respect for Wolfie after seeing how he handled the delicate situation well with Dave the past few years.

"Hey, I still hate the way the treated Mikey, but the kid is the real deal. He dealt with Dave like i've never thought anyone could and played his ass off. If he can make Dave sound that good and Ed is healthy, you never know"..

Wolfie has grown to respect the Hagar material and wants a shot at "tapping into the other side of dad's musical legacy".

They call Sam into 5150 to record new tunes and tour 2014 - 15..

Thoughts? He is going to address the Hagar material someday..

I hope not. While I liked the Hagar era, I would prefer to get one or two more albums with Roth first. Wouldnt mind some kind of Sammy reunion at some point, but not before more music with Roth.

    Hey TheNine5150,

I just realized my post could be taken the wrong way. I wasnt trying to be negative about your idea. Was just stating my opinion. Nothing wrong with your idea.

No problem! Not taken in a negative way at all.

I'll get blasted much worse than that before this thread is done!

I really just believe that Wolf will want to tackle the entire catalog. Just don't know how - with the pressure of father time on his ass...

I like Dave and think he did a great job on lyrics on ADKOT, but...

If I were Wolf, I would ride the classic VH train as long and hard as it will take me and then branch out on my own.

I what Ed says is true - the stuff about hours of record material -I can see Wolf using snippets to make music long after the classic VH band is gone.

Don't see it happening ,Wolfie is a Dave era fan.Doing Hagar era stuff would not be a good thing.Hoping for at least another album from the current line-up...

I've always held out hope that VH would have amicable relationships with both Sam and Dave. With Wolfie taking control like he has, I think this is significantly more possible than it was a few years ago. Let's give the guy a chance. He may pull it off. Perhaps not until he's got a few more albums under his belt, but I think it's possible.

I could see a lot of Dave only fan's heads exploding if it happened. Sam wouldn't do it without Mike, but any Ed and Al is better than none IMHO.

You never know what could happen in Van Halen land.

I do think that Sammy and Eddie have some things to patch up first.
