Default We've Seen the Last of the Setlist Changes

It was fun while it lasted, but I think it's pretty safe to say we've seen the last of the setlist "surprises" this tour.

Not complaining as I got to see Jamie's Crying, Full Bug, Hear About it Later, GGbad, and Outta Love Again in 4 different shows, but I think the party's over.

Now that it's over, and we've settled into a pretty stable rotation of songs, what was the rarest cut played this tour?

It's gotta be Hang 'em High, right? I think they only played that one twice?

I don't know, they are hitting areas in the 3rd leg that are very close to 1st and 2nd leg locations. Perhaps that is when they break out a Light Up The Sky and Drop Dead Legs?

I really hope that the band will play again "Blood and fire" (Washington 03.28 et Pittsburg 03.30) , i couldn't understand that they played in rotation with "the trouble with never" ...

Yeah, it looks like they're settling into a comfortable rut now with the A (Romeo Delight, Outta Love Again) and B (Full Bug, Girl Gone Bad) sets. I think they may eventually slot in Light Up The Sky in that 4th song spot and see how that works but my gut feeling is that they're keeping that and Drop Dead Legs as soundcheck gems to give the VIPs something for their money.

I think Bottom's Up would be a perfect song for Dave and the crowd to sing along with.

For the people who haven't seen a show yet, these old new songs will be new. But for those of watching at home who have seen shows, yes, nothing new. Look at his way, if they replace some of the old new set-list songs now with new set-list songs now, the people who haven't seen a show yet never saw the old new songs. Makes sense??? Not even sure I understand this !

But i think before tour is over they will add some new ones, hopefully As Is makes it in.

I tell you I still feel so lucky that I was able to see them play Hang Em High in Boston. Certainly one of my favorite Dave era tunes and the "machine gun" riff is one of my absolute favorite Eddie riffs of all time.

If Dave could get the lyrics right this time ha ha, I would love to see em pull that one out again. Either way we just might get lucky and see them pull out a couple other rare tunes the last leg or so. I am hopefull.

I saw VH 3 times on this tour and holding off on seeing them a 4th time when they come back to NJ/NY area.

If they dont change the set list I am not going to sink $ 171 for basically the same show. It doesnt make any sense. Especially for that type of money.

It would be nice to hear Bottoms Up as part of the encore like they did back in the day.
Intruder into Pretty Woman and some hidden gems.

They need to change things up when they play a market for the 2nd go around.
With the amount of feedback they got for Drop Dead Legs it amazes me that this song isnt played at every show.

I have some faith they will change things up when then hit Uncasville in July.

It will be there second show there and it's the first night of the second leg.

Would love to hear Stay Frosty and As Is get in there for Chinatown and Trouble with Never and then 2 other old ones changed up.

I'm going to the Mohegan Sun show again, too. Hoping for at least a song or two that are newly added!

I'd be willing to bet that they mix it up with some other deep cuts....going back into markets, etc. I don't think people will be too excited as a casual fan to pay money to go see it again ya know?

I would think that once words spreads that there are some other deep songs being pulled out, etc the casual fan would lay down cash again to see them in their market.

For example...here in Oklahoma they pulled a TON of people out of the OKC area and most thought that was it (me included) since no OKC date, but to come back again and be 15 minutes away from the venue than 2 hours most will go....

So I'm hoping for a few things out of this onslaught of dates.

    Still soundcheck for VIP.

Dump Marley. Good god that's a terrible opening act.

Mix up the songs played and the order would be fun to mix up.
Imagine a world without Eddie Van Halen.

"From the moment David Lee Roth appeared at the top of a giant runway that snaked through the Oklahoma City Ford Center audience Tuesday night, he wore the one thing that told every Van Halen fan that everything was right with the world. It was a maniacal Cheshire cat smile announcing happiness and enthusiasm that cannot be faked. Not only was the old band back together, it was thriving."
