Default First official tour boxscores released

See below #s, very reminiscent of the 2004 tour in the SE with attendance and reduced prices. I'm sure the bigger cities will be much higher when released. MSG should have 2 sellouts posted.

I get the $ amounts, but are the two "non-number" amounts the total capacity for that arena and total sold?

The actual Billboard Boxscore page contains the headers that explain all the numbers.

Interesting stuff, i've never seen stats like that before.
What once upon a time made Van Halen unique in the progression of metal and hard rock (besides Eddie’s prowess as a guitarist) was its sense of fun, its willingness to be not just over the top, but weird.

I don't understand this chart... Where are all of the other Van Halen shows? Looking at the bottom of the chart, there are shows with less than 1,000 people. So, I would have thought every show would be listed here or something... (?)

Who knows...BB gives data but it seems that they way the data is reported, and calculated, all play into these figures.

Not sure any of this means much until the tour itself and 2012 wraps up. Then we'll know

Something is a bit fishy about these #'s. Example,Phillips Arena in Atlanta has a capacity of 21,000 for concerts.Having seen Van Halen, twice Rolling Stones twice, Aerosmith, and Roger Waters there to name a few, I have a hard time believing only 10,704 were all that attended the 4/19/2012 show. There were some empty seats but nowhere near 10,000!

Van Halens production for this tour does not block out that many seats. Atlanta wasn't a sellout but I would wager that between 15,000-16,000 were at that show. And I was actually sober. But what really smells like BS is the capacity given for some of these venues. This isn't like 81' or even 1980 Invasion were the stage and props blocked off a big chunk of seats.

Better pick up a six pack for after work. Once the stat heads and number crunchers get here, all hell should break loose for whatever reasons only God knows why, but it should be fun to watch.

I'll get the ball rolling and suggest the low numbers are a conspiracy designed to lower Van Halen's sales and income taxes off the tour. Who's next? "You better believe that tax bill hurts you."
"People say Cream gave birth to Heavy Metal," says Baker. "If that's so, we should have had an abortion."

Yeah, its been hinted at above that we could be looking at a 2004 v. 2012 tour debate.

May God have mercy on this thread...
