Default Thoughts on MA attending an LA-area show

I was just thinking about it, and man, wouldn't that be the coolest thing if Mike was able to attend one of the LA-area shows? He has obviously and totally and completely come to terms with his VH legacy. I would hope it wouldn't be such that he just would pass on going altogether. The last tour, I could see him skipping. But now? Seems like he might actually want to check it out.

I don't know. Pure speculation. I just think it would be really cool.

Actually I think chicken feet are playing the night before in LA or something. The dates are pretty close. So he may be in the area.

    I could be wrong tho.

In Rock and Roll....you never know.

That would be pretty cool if he jammed on a song or two (especially Runnin' With The Devil).

I'm not even thinking about jamming at all -- I don't think that's all that possible or fair to Wolf.

But for him just to even attend, and maybe get a Chad-like photo afterward? Man, that would just so fuckin' cool.

So great, yeah, I've wandered off into things that'll never happen in VH-Land, but again, damn! It would just be cool.

Personally I don't see it happening. And I don't see him going backstage and even getting photos with the guys.

don't really care. I'm guessing that if he's invited to the show he might go but I wouldn't imagine he'd buy a ticket and go the show, no.

That's the truest statement and the closest we may get to an answer unless it really happens.

I think Wolfie would be game and it sounds like he's pretty much in charge of band activities.

Judging from what I've read about this incarnation of VH.....If Wolfgang wanted Mike invited to a show, then it would happen....

It's all up to VH jr.

For a few brief minutes, on Black Friday in Tucson in 2004, there was an incarnation of Van Halen briefly on stage playing a few songs for sound check that included Mike, Ed, Alex, and a 12-year-old Wolfgang. That's where that crazy "Drop Dead Legs" sound check jam came from. Wolfgang sang on "You Really Got Me." Pretty neat.

Kevin, throughout Mike's tenure with VH Eddie has tried to have him replaced several times with Billy Sheehan. I also read that this goes back even to the early days. Can you shed some light on this? I've always wondered if there was some conflict with Eddie that we don't know about. I know that Dave had stepped in and squashed the idea in the past.
