    This is the first time in a long time that I've been excited for the season to start as a Dodger fan. With the news of the sale still coming out, it looks like McCourt is still in the parking lot picture. Anyways, enough about that. Hopefully this means some money to bolster the roster and a renewed interest in the farm system. Looking forward to them getting a deal signed with Ethier too.

    wow
    Word is that it will included a new local TV network. It may be similar to the Yankees "YES Network". That is where the real big $$ money is.

    +++

    On a side note..... I just threw up in my mouth a bit when they mentioned on KNBR (SF radio) this morning that they see the Dodgers being big players in the free agent market next off season. They said they may go hard after Matt Cain...... Oh boy.....

    I'm sure that the Dodgers and TV rights will be worth every penny......2 billion is a huge number though.....funny, one of the owners is one of the Warriors owners, Pete Gruber.....hopefully some of that Warrior luck will rub off on LA...

    Note to Brian Sabean......sign Matt Cain now!!!!......not tomorrow.....not after breakfast......NOW!

    Frank McCourt did not retain the parking lots. He has some interest in the area around Dodger Stadium.

    I had heard that he was trying to keep the parking lots and that what was holding up the proposed deals....it was reported today that he was to be getting some of the parking revenue....of course, that was Bay Area sports talk radio reporting that, so I should not have taken that as fact....

    How do you feel about Magic being the face of ownership for the Dodgers?......and did they overpay?.......2 billion.....thats steep even for one of the top franchises in sports....

    Cubs are gonna suck...at least we have direction within the organization. Accountability and motivation are the key factors to making a probable 90-loss season more interesting.

    I set my alarm clock radio to go off so I could hear the first pitch. Heard it and went right back to sleep. Its stupid to play games in Japan.

    I am going to have to actually read the program to know who any of the Astros starters are on opening day. Oh well...it will be the last opening day in the NL. I think I'll get drunk.

    Yeah, first game in the books but did anybody see it?

    'Opening Daybreak' just doesn't have the same ring to it.

    What was that, around 3A your time? Glad MLB thinks so little of the fans of Seattle and Oakland...

    Can't wait to see which way they choose to show how much they don't care next.

    MLB Network replayed the game later in the morning. My kids watched it at 7am this morning during breakfast here in California...lol...

    Also the reason it is on at 2am...... It's just the A's & Mariners...... haha. You better believe if it was a big market playoff team it would be on in prime time...

    At least the game had some fantasy implications..... King Felix looked very good. Grant Balfour got a scoreless inning as the new A's closer.

    Y. Cespedes got a hit in his 1st MLB game. D Ackley also looked good at 2B.

    +++++

    Also OLO, what do you think about Jesus Montero? One of my buddies up in SEA is still pretty mad about that trade. He thinks Montero will end up just being a DH and never be a fulltime catcher.
