Default 70's and 80's stage clothes, where are they now ?

70's and 80's stage clothes, where are they now ?
Any of you guys have a clue where are the old stage attires ?
all of dlr costumes and eddie's overalls ? I think they still (Dave maybe)
has them stored somewhere, back in 2003 he put the 1991 Alae black jacket
back in action after 12 years of absence. Would be cool if they mount something like
a VH Convention with all of the old instruments (Davesicle) and stage clothing !
Would be a very cool idea !

Wouldn't be surprised if Dave kept all his old stage outfits in a closet somewhere in that mansion of his or in storage. I know Al keeps all his old drum kits in a warehouse, and we all know that Eddie has all his crap lying around 5150 somewhere.

Some of those outfits could have been used by low budget professional wrestlers or rodeo clowns.

Kidbilly might get the award for the best quote of the day....

Say ya missed me...say it like ya mean it...
Imagine a world without Eddie Van Halen.

"From the moment David Lee Roth appeared at the top of a giant runway that snaked through the Oklahoma City Ford Center audience Tuesday night, he wore the one thing that told every Van Halen fan that everything was right with the world. It was a maniacal Cheshire cat smile announcing happiness and enthusiasm that cannot be faked. Not only was the old band back together, it was thriving."

You think Ed wore those Fair Warning-era white knickers with red and white striped socks around the house back then to do some gardening perhaps?

If I could speak for johnny, I think he might have been thinking about those different colored jumpsuits that Ed wore during the WACF era. Dweezil Zappa said when he first met Ed, he was wearing one of those.

This is actually a thought provoking thread. Very interesting, some of them still have to be around you would think.
Janie Liszewski did the IMPOSSIBLE she helped Eddie Van Halen get better. Deal with it.

It's interesting because for some artists their stage clothes are so identifiable. Like Elvis's jumpsuits, I think it would be cool to see Ed's striped overalls in a Hard Rock Cafe or something like that because all you ever see of Ed are his guitars in various places which is understandable.

And what happened to Dave's recent Cafe Wha? overalls? It is too bad he ditched those. I like them better than the matador jackets and I was looking forward to a resurgence of overall fashion in the culture (or at least maybe at VH shows).

Even Eddie broke out some overalls during the first VH reunion attempt.

"well it's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look"
remember when Dave said these words, well to me it looks as if he has forgotten that, i mean, hey dave lose those damn blue shirts, hey if you look at the pants he is wearing with the combination of the shirt, jacket and the other stuff, it does not match, its like a rocker going to an interview for a goofy sparkling goofy job, to me that is not looking good.

Look the stage is a bit restrained, other than the jumbotron, there is nothing going on there(hey, other than a great performance by the greatest band) but dave can really get a lot more and get a great outfit to go with the show, don't know, maybe the pants with the black motorcycle shirt he uses and some bandanas, or maybe the the same white pants(which he has used, with some rocking shirt) or even the outfit he used when appearing with sammy at the vmas.

i think this is the only place he is lacking right now and maybe the band too, other than that i think they are phenomenal, they just need to switch a little their style. Style a very important part of the band back then and i think they have just forgotten, this may even help them bring in new audience, so it looks like the band is winning but they are not looking good. Time for an upgrade, just look as recently as the 2007, 2008 tour and even back then the cloth were silly but i think a bit better and in shape too.

and last why don't they bring back a few old stuff like the flaming gong or a huge VH logo blinking at the start or end of a song, like the VH IN THE 81 VIDEO for hear about it later, they have the coolest logo. also how about a bit but lighting effects, say smokey red for running, black and just a spotlight in an intro on wolfie, dave or eddie.

and sorry this is the last, the vip experience is lacking, went to the 2/28 msg show, 4th row seats 17 and 18(which were great, awesome, amazing...) but the vip treatment was really lacking in every respect. we went up to a room to get some food and just two beers. the room was as stark as i don't know, but here are my humble observations. This won't cost them much and may seem to the fan as a greater treat. First do you think it would be hard to place some stripped tablecloths on the table, second put some VH music and mix it up with other things. Display a few photos old and new, do trivias to get the group together, play some videos or message from the band, make the vip experience special, make your fans happy and as we were backstage having a blast, do not treat us like old guys going to see VH. You can do better than that, also have in hand the shirt or whatever it is you are going to include, in my case they did not have it which is also kind of a bummer. i am going to see them again four times in FL and already have 2 regular vip tickets(first 20 rows or something) but as stated before they can do better in this areas.

In all that old TV footage of Ed and Val 'at home', Ed's wearing his faithful dungarees - the same as the ones he wore onstage - so I would imagine that they simply got tossed in the bin once they got a bit tatty or whatever.

Having said that, I cannot believe that the stripy pedal-pusher and knee-high sock ensemble was an everyday outift - I'd love to know what happened to it, along with the "Jump" yellow zebra-skin jacket. Now, if Ed decided to auction that jacket for charity, I would be VERY keen on bidding for it as it is, in my opinion, a truly marvellous item of clothing!
