Ok who out there thought that the album, tour, rare live cuts, interviews online and the Vanhalenized world we are living in would come to arise as it did?

I knew we would get something but never thought I would be feeling like I did back in 84..... anybody with me?

I don't think anyone here expected this. Anyone who says otherwise is lying through thier G-D teeth!

I certainly didn't expect half of what was going to happen.

Yeah I agree. It almost feels like the years of waiting was worth it. It is a great time to be a van halen fan.
Janie Liszewski did the IMPOSSIBLE she helped Eddie Van Halen get better. Deal with it.

It's been amazing for sure!! Seeing Van Halen with Dave was always a MAJOR empty box that needed a check in it for so many years for me. Last month I finally got to check that sucker!!! Dream come true for sure! Going to try and go to one more show as well.

Even James in New York had some doubts at one time but he flew the VH banner high and kept the faith.

It's great to have Van Halen putting out new music and kicking ass on the road!

A year ago? Heck, we were still feeling pretty hopeless 3 months ago. It's amazing how much has changed so quickly.

Wow! I forgot about when I feared I might be racist... whew!

...but I must have had some good gonj'a or something.

An overt assassination of obstacles is usually considered to be, by proxy, the extent of the former weight litigation that has crumpled the structure. All the best blue is only orange with a trumped up pigment value. What difference does a day make if the waist size is equal to the height of a door jamb. Summer was like that if that was a whirlpool. It is just a magnetic sponge with no curved wafer.

Good times forgotten indeed. Forward HO!

yeah its certainly a good time alright. Seeing them in Boston and actually hearing them play Hang Em High...... I thought I was going to pass out.... I really did.

you know seeing them in 07/08 was awesome.... it really was but for some reason even though they were with Dave again back then, it just did not seem as freakin cool as it does now. I know there was no new album then and they were just touring playing the classics but hearing little guitars, Cradle will rock, Atomic punk etc was freakin amazing.... but just not close to this tour for some reason..... Not sure why but this seems to blow away the recent stuff. Just feels like 83/84 again,

Maybe it all comes down to the way Ed and Dave bring the best out of each other. in 07/08 it was somewhat forced, Ed was still an alcoholic (at least for a while there) and Dave was seemingly on egg shells. But this time around they've found that fire and passion again, and no doubt Wolfie, sobriety and the new music certainly has helped.

Ed will always be an alcoholic (one day at a time ), and Dave wears egg shells like silk socks.

I figured there would be an album and tour. I didn't know when they'd release it though. And when the tour is over, I bet they go back into hibernation. Not a knock on them--its just that I'm sure they have lives outside of Van Halen. Then after a couple of years, they'll start the machine up again.

After seeing them in 07 I strongly felt something special was possible. I stated that often and was often insulted by the "realists" lol but Dave, Ed, and Al made it for a reason. Iconic for a reason. Very talented guys with fire in them which helped them achieve all they have. I thought they could still hit it out of the park if they wanted to, healthy and were inspired. My opinion from seeing them in 07(and seeing other show vids online etc) was that they were inspired, in good form and had it in them. Wasn't a popular opinion at the time but was how I felt(a few other people felt the same way).

Even with that they did exceed my expectations. Especially with the private vids they have made for the fans and how hard the album is. I didn't think we would hear a tune like HBSD. Turns out to be one of my favorites on the album.
