I think that all but the most delusional of VH fans have realized that there is no current plans for a VH reunion.

That being said, is there enough time for David and his new lineup to put out a kick ass CD and join Ozzfest?

I think that Dave's only non-VH chance is to drop the DLR band name in favor of a new name, release some hard rockin' tunes and broaden his exposure with a non-headlining bill on something like Ozzfest where he does not just do a VH nostalgia act.

Just my 2 cents, in the post-reunion era.

I pretty much agree, He proved what he wanted to prove with his last tour.

He needs to slightly re-invent himself and start selling and touring new material.

Don't get me wrong, I still want him to be DLR and I still want some classics mixed in. But I would like to see him try to make it as a non-nostalgic act at least one more time.

I personally would like to see the DLR Band out on the road again. This time it would be nice to hear some new material mixed in with some old solo-Roth and classic Van Halen. I like going to see his shows where he played some new stuff off of the album and then would knock you over with some kick-ass Van Halen tunes.

I'm a huge Dave fan, but I don't see his popularity beeing helped by ozzfest - just doesn't seem like his type of crowd.

I'm looking forward to another small tour by Dave and catching him at one of the local clubs ( i.e. The Cajun House - for you other AZ Linkers )

I missed him last time he came here - and I am looking forward to seeing him with or without the vh bros!!!

I respectfully disagree. Armed with a new hot shredder and some new material (along with a FEW of the classics), Dave can show a whole new audience who's the original "badass." Dave was reaking havoc when Kid Rock and Fred Durst were still singing along with Barney. I think there is a whole new generation who could discover Dave by hearing some hot, new material.

Dave needs a festival (and not one of those washed up 80s festivals with Warrant and Slaughter) to break out of the small club circuit.

Remember, "perception is reality." While I loved seeing Dave in '94 at the TLA in Philly and the Button South in Florida, the perception that most casual fans get is that Dave is playing these small clubs because he is washed up. People remember the days when Dave would sell out MSG and the Meadowlands and when they see him playing the Jaco Taco, they can't help but conclude that he's lost it.

Dave ain't no Kevin DuBrow, so he should not act like him.

I really dont know why Roth can't emulate Hagar. Put out albums, and tour mid level venues, with the occasional arena ( like Hagar in St. Louis). Develop new material, with a sprinkling of the old. Now is Hagar at the top of the charts? No. But he is respectable.
