Default Eddie preferring ebony or rosewood fretboard?

I wonder why the change all of a sudden. My personal belief is that he will sell way more ebony and rosewood fret board guitars by him playing one of his guitars with the dark fret boards.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but he's been selling stuff from flip flops to Tie's, it would only make sense that he would do this.

Fans that play guitar want what he's playing. For 35 years it's been maple fret boards, then birds eye maple fret boards. And I'm sure 95% of the EBMM's and Peavey WG's sold had maple or birds eye. I think he just want to see the dark wood move.

Or maybe he's just had a TONE revelation. Lol.

I wouldn't be so skeptical of Eddie to assume he's only playing ebony fingerboards on his Wolfgangs now to sell more guitars. The story is he tried it and liked it. Ebony is very bright--not unlike maple. It makes sense to me he would like it for similar reasons. Eddie has been known to play rosewood fingerboards on recordings for years. (I have three rosewood fingerboard Peavey Wolfgangs, and the touch of added "darkness" does wonders to the tone.)
