I saw this in a shop a few hours ago and had it in my hand to buy it, then I thought fuck it, I'm not giving £5.50 to these cunts after the shit review they gave ADKOT. Now they're using VH to sell their mag, tempting, but I decided not to give them my cash.

Imagine a world without Eddie Van Halen.

"From the moment David Lee Roth appeared at the top of a giant runway that snaked through the Oklahoma City Ford Center audience Tuesday night, he wore the one thing that told every Van Halen fan that everything was right with the world. It was a maniacal Cheshire cat smile announcing happiness and enthusiasm that cannot be faked. Not only was the old band back together, it was thriving."

How can that magazine put the Van Hagar logo over an image of the original line up? Disrespectful to both eras. I am sickened.

"Classic rock" is the best mag out there, give it a chance. I have'nt seen the review they did of the album, but its only ones opinion. Who cares? A cover story is still cool, and atleast one mags covering VH out there....

Basically, every VH fan is over the moon with ADKOT but the guy who reviewed it clearly wasn't a VH fan. He sort of begrudgingly said, at a push, the album was OK. What was funny was all the people on their website slaughtering the guy and saying the album was awesome.

People having their own opinions is fine but there's nothing worse when they get someone to review music by a band they don't like, it's pointless. Ask me to review a Coldplay record and obviously it's getting a terrible review cos they're the biggest pile of horseshit going.

Get someone who at least likes VH to review ffs!!! I might go with the ripping the pages out plan myself though lol!!!

I always find Classic Rock's articles hard to read. They have a style that doesn't always seem to flow properly. They ran a story about 1984 about a year ago, and I had to read it 3 times before it started to make sense, it was all over the place. And it's too expensive so I'll steal my dads copy.

    Agreed and cunts is appropriate.

The print review in the magazine was by Dave Everley, and it's much more positive, but still doesn't give the album the credit it deserves. It gives a 7/10 rating, which is a bit miserly, and I really don't agree with the assessments of the songs.
HERE AND GONE by Haylen Beck (Stuart Neville writing as...) - "It doesn't get better than this." - Lee Child, "Highly recommended." - Harlan Coben, "Cancel all your plans and settle in for the ride." - Ruth Ware, "This is a book that lives up to the buzz." - Alafair Burke
